Hunter Laing Whisky Old & Rare Springbank 31 y.o.
The Hunter Laing Springbank 31 Years Old from the ‘Old & Rare Platinum’ series is something of a Holy Grail among whisky connoisseurs when it comes to Campbeltown bottlings. It dates from an era (distilled in 1991) when the Springbank distillery cemented its legendary reputation for craftsmanship, and was finished after more than three decades by one of Scotland’s most renowned independent bottlers.
As the whisky matured in a refill hogshead, the distillery’s character was not overlaid by new oak. The result is a pure and highly complex interpretation of the typical Springbank style.
The Hunter Laing Springbank 31 y.o. is a time capsule, combining the oily, maritime DNA of Campbeltown with an elegance that can only be achieved through extremely long maturation in high-quality wood.
Due to the strict limitation of 188 bottles and its great age, this whisky is not only a pleasure to drink but also a top-class investment. Prices on the secondary market and at auctions are often significantly higher than the original retail price.
