I love the classics, Dior’s Eau Sauvage and Chanel’s Cuir de Russie, and those have strong longevity as well. You might also like to try:
- Annick Goutal Sables: immortelle, sandalwood, pepper, cinnamon - a strangely warm, comforting perfume- La Yuqawam, Rasasi: saffron, leather, oud. Most Rasasi perfumes have strong sillage, I also find them to be unusual concoctions.- Tom Ford Noir de Noir and Tobacco Vanille. Though I must confess to not being much of a Tom Ford fan, the perfumes are quite strong.- Amouage Interlude Man: incense, herbs, sweet myrrh and a strong drydown of sandalwood.

Die Gegenbewegung: Während damals fast alle Händler westliche, europäische Düfte importierten, setzte Kalsekar bewusst auf die traditionellen, reichhaltigen Düfte des Orients.

Rasasi erfand das Konzept des „Mono-Brand-Stores“ in der Region. Sie waren die Ersten, die exklusive Boutiquen nur für eine einzige arabische Parfümmarke eröffneten.

Der Zufall auf dem Highway (1986):
Auf einer Autofahrt nach Abu Dhabi sahen der Gründer und sein Sohn eine einsame Werbetafel mitten in der Wüste. Sie kündigte die Entstehung einer neuen Freihandelszone an (Jafza). Sie hielten am Straßenrand an, notierten die Nummer auf einem Zettel und bauten dort kurz darauf ihre erste große Fabrik für Oud-Öle auf.
Das Familien-Erbe: Das Unternehmen wird bis heute als reiner Familienbetrieb geführt. Kalsekars sechs Söhne stiegen alle nacheinander in das Geschäft ein und bauten den kleinen Laden zu einem globalen Giganten aus. Mittlerweile ist bereits die 3. Generation am Steuer.
Größte Fabrik der Region: Heute besitzt Rasasi eine der weltweit größten Produktionsstätten für Parfüm in Dubai, die jährlich hunderte Millionen Flakons in über 60 Länder exportiert
