I've been thinking a lot about transgender and genderqueer issues as of late, considering my own life and a lot of complications and talking to friends of mine who understand my thoughts. And I just... Well, I realized something. With the emergence of Genderqueer identities, we've finally come across the first Changeling generation. A generation that views their body as a mutable, changeable thing.

It's always been some ideal of the sci-fi tropes, and has always been proposed as a mindset that is so alien to be the sole purview of non-humans. But now we've got the start of it forming, and proof that having a mailable identity is as human a concept as any. Not something exclusive to the Founders of Star Trek, the Doppelgangers of D&D, but something humanity itself can do.

From that perspective alone, it's a glorious time to be alive.
