Ravenswatch seems like a simple "Diablo but roguelike", but it's actually the perfect MOBA game for people who don't like the genre.

Here's a cast of neat characters, each one with distinct abilities and gameplay style, you can play any of them in a short(ish) gameplay session, you'll go around fighting mobs getting xp/loot in preparation for the later game, you can play with your friends. All of that without the rampant toxicity of competitive games.

Also, Sun Wukong is there.
