 61. why do you continue writing fics?

I put a lot of pressure on myself writing my original fiction, and it feels more like a job (drafting and redrafting and getting critiques and preparing comp titles and pitches and synopses etc...) and can be pretty lonely at times. fic honestly is so much fun, there's a beautiful community of writers and readers out here and honestly just a tiny comment or kudos means SO much to me and will make my day. also to be honest hudcon have infected me with a mind virus so I simply don't have a choice but to continue writing them, it is as a higher power decreed 🫡

70. When asked, are you embarrassed or enthusiastic to tell people that you write?

I'm gonna answer this as writing in general because nobody in my rl apart from my writing group knows I am writing fic (and no-one knows about the rpf of it all...). I'm not embarrassed but I've learned over the years to prepare for the inevitable followups (what is your story about, how many pages, can I read it (almost no-one who says this actually means it), etc...) and kill people's interest with just plain hard facts. in my experience generally people are very fascinated though and in awe of the work it takes, but you can tell they're looking at you like a specimen in a zoo trying to figure out why lol

2. Album of the year?

i was terrible at listening to new music this year and spent a lot of it revisiting old favorites. spent a lotttt of time with linkin park's meteora again, still holds up! name a song intro that goes harder than faint. i don't think you can.
