It was at that moment, at that second, that I knew that he wouldn’t let anyone hurt me
Malbonte x Victoria(Vicky)
was thinking about how depending on your route vicky and lane could be considered sister-in-laws which led to these thoughts on family dinners:
david: azrael is surprisingly nice to audrey (definitely likes her more than david). goes okay until he asks when they’re having children (david tries to murder him)
war/hunger: one of them is third-wheeling. who invited shephamalum? morta is hiding under the table
astaroth: christopher keeps telling embarrassing stories. bonus points if mimi is dating christopher
dino: most awkward dinner ever. fencio and rebecca are either ignoring each other or arguing the whole time. winchesto is assigned as the peacemaker
mimi: best in-laws ever. mammon started singing hours ago and no one can stop him. eliza is face-palming, rebecca wants to leave
cain: abel definitely gatecrashed their dinner, cain is trying to get him to go away, lane has given up
malbonte: 'you had to choose that one' - rebecca and shephamalum
raphael: invites the astreans because they are their family 🥹
sorry i killed your dad club: lucifer, dmitry, anna
everyone is dead club: greg, mikael, yan, malek
the only normal ones: cassiel, felonia
Confession:
"Vicky x Dino is a couple with the funniest family dynamic for me. Imagine the family holiday and its Vicky, Dino, Rebecca, Winchesto and Fencio in the same room."
it’s crazy to me that shepamalum is the only one to see vicky as a real threat like nobody else gaf?? they always underestimate her ugh
everytime i remember rebecca telling malbonte: 'don't make her regret choosing you' and he says 'i won't, i promise' i die a little more inside
(originally i was rambling in the tags but it got wayy too long so i add it here) rebecca who lost her daughter and husband so early on. she arrives to heaven sick with grief for her baby, missing her husband. the mockery for the unclaimed and downright discrimination only makes her rage harder; furious at her life being taken, at this whole rotten world. the grinding pressure of heaven eventually drives all warmth and sentimenta from her once-human heart, until one day out of absolutely nowhere her daughter shows up. not the chubby cheeked little five year old who she left behind; no, this girl is older, with her shoulders back and her eyes mistrusting of this place. and rebecca knows that as pitying as she might feel for her daughter's life being cut so young, she cannot interfere.
rebecca's daughter is just as stubborn and determined as her mother. she's loud, she knows her values, and she sides with the enemy. she chooses him, helps him, and not only does she become his ally but she gives him her heart. and rebecca knows that her daughter's heart is softer, it has not lost its ideals, its warmth. and can she even call vicky her own daughter? she did not raise her, after all. the young woman with a clenched jaw and blood-splattered wings is a far cry from the baby that rebecca knew; and everytime vicky turns to her with those eager eyes that hope to reconcile, it's another arrow to her heart.
and so she has no choice. her daughter is in the arms of a man who is crazed and bloodthirsty and manic, a man who is a murderer and a ruthless revolutionary. with every blow of her power, rebecca knows she cannot fight malbonte, and all she can do is to make one last effort. she tells him to never make vicky regret her choice, the unspoken words of treat her well, treasure her; and he knows what she's saying.
and like... malbonte doesn't know what to say ! from his birth he's been regarded as a harbinger of doom, a herald of despair. from his own parents, to his gods, and the very world itself, they have all regarded him as a monster who is incapable of tenderness. and now he's being trusted by the enemy, and he knows he loves her, and the feeling nearly knocks him off his feet itself.
and of course, he thinks. i'm not a monster, i'll not ever harm her. but little did rebecca know that malbonte would hurt vicky and bring her to tears many times over the next years; and that vicky would never once regret choosing him despite it all
I really hate how Vicky is presented as weak. I mean book 1, sure! She was unclaimed and just all around new to being an immortal. But NOW? This bitch killed Satan, God, at least 2 horsemen of the apocalypse and the fucking UNIVERSE itself... like maybe she's not that weak just because "she's empty" or whatever. Also didn't she literally absorb the power of the mother of life end of HS2? Like isn't that why Shepamalum wasn't able to do that? Why isn't she literally the most powerful being in the universe right now? I'm truly sorry to Raphael but this mofo couldn't even kill Malek... Lane killed Baal... very easily too she low key didn't give a fuck while doing it she was very chill about it... I don't know I'm sorry but the power scale is so off in the HS universe like Vicky should be at least Shepamalum's equal in this story like what's all this measure bearer shit? She doesn't need some loser angel's powers, she's VICKY!!!!!! THE HBIC!!!!!!!!!!!! SHE KILLED GOD!!!!!!!! MORE THAN ONCE!!!!!!!!!
