Basic Kinetic Relationships
-- reaction order must be determined through experiment
-- rate law must be determined through experiment
-- rate law relates the rate of the reaction to the concentration of the reactant
-- the integrated rate law is mathematically derived from the rate law
-- the integrated rate law relates the concentration of the reactant to time
-- half-life = the time it takes for the concentration of a reactant to fall to one-half of its initial value
-- the half-life of a first order reaction is independent of the initial concentration
-- zero order and second order half-lives depend on the initial concentration

2. When Kc ≈ 1, the concentrations of reactants and products are similar at equilibrium.

Notice that, in going from reactant to product, the Gibbs energy has a minimum, in contrast to the diagrams in figure 9.7; it drops below that of both pure N2O4 and pure NO2.

We got back in NC after a full week in coastal S.C. and they want to do #science ? Uighur, here, you try it! Grab the funnel, add the baking soda to each balloon (two people may be needed for this; one person to hold the balloon open and the other person to put the baking soda inside of the balloon). Pour the vinegar into the bottle. ...you'll have to follow my boys on @kitchentothecourt for more details! #ihomeschool #chemicalreaction, #reactants, #endothermic #pressleyboys #pagecomingsoon They are on Facebook though! #mamastired (at Hemingway, South Carolina)
Took this photo sometime last year when I made soap for the first time and failed miserably. My yield was 0.35g of vegetable oil soap. Nonetheless, the concept behind making soap is fascinating, it's all about manipulating the equilibrium of the chemical reaction. When a chemical reaction is at equilibrium, the concentrations of both reactants and products is constant. The experimenter can use this to increase or decrease the amount of reactants or products. This is done on an industrial scale for the mass production of soap. For a more detailed explanation, check out one of my previous posts on equilibrium (post has a beaker with layers of orange liquid/solid in it) #soap #soapmaking #equilibrium #reactants #products #beaker #oil #vegetableoil #water #chemicalreaction #chemistry #science #sciences
You think you really don't give a *bad word that starts with f and ends with k*?
You tweeted “idgaf” but you stalk the person’s tweets. You say “idgaf” but you talk about it. You say “do you know how many ef yu si kay es i give? It’s less than one.” But you rant about it? You say you don’t care but you overreact. Can you not say words you can’t back up? If you really don’t give a *beep beep toot toot* then I G N O R E. Noticing and reacting about other people’s dilemma that has nothing to do with you is wasting time, energy, and effort. You could make time to use your energy exerting effort to live with something worthy than ranting about others. Bothering yourself with others’ businesses won’t earn you for a living and beautiful or handsome face. Truth be told, you react because you care. Don’t freaking deny it.
