A lil reading update: 

A couple of days ago I finally got the third book of the Mirror Visitors series (by Christelle Dabos) from the library! I have been waiting for it for weeks, and being a poor student I couldn’t afford to buy it lol. 

So far, I am enjoying it. I am about 34% in and the story is really weird without Thorn, plus the book is very different from the first two, but I am enjoying seeing a different Ophelia, acting alone and finding herself in always biggest messes.

Any thoughts?

Why do you like fantasy?

I was having a discussion with a friend yesterday about what we like about fantasy genre and it's tropes. Now I'm wondering what other people like about it as well :)

What do you like the most about fantasy? What tropes, what elements, what aspects? What do you expect a good fantasy book to have? What is something you always look forward to or really appreciate in a fantasy book?

For me, it's the magical powers element that I love the most. How people would react, what would be done with them, what views and problems would arise... I like the magic set in more modern kind of setting, so I prefer alternate or modern urban fantasy settings over high fantasy. Otherwise I just want what I look for in any book - compelling characters, exciting plots, moving relationships, emotions, arcs and development, new angles on themes and topics. What about you?

So... I really love modern and classic literature and deep books and all... but September is FANTASY MONTH BABY. I am gonna read a lot of them.

For now I have decided for:

The "Nevernight" trilogy by Jay Kristoff

"Black Leopard, Red Wolf" by Marlon James

And at the beginning of October the third book of "The Mirror Visitors" saga by Christelle Dabos is gonna come out and I am EXCITED to say the least.

What should I add to my list? Shoot me some suggestions!
