i’ve been in a kind of slump lately, really lacking motivation, so I’m slowly trying to make my way out of it. But on a happier note, it’s finally been dry enough for me to sit at my favourite reading tree at college, which I imagine should be blossoming within the next month or so! 🌸
I hate it when my comic book babies don't get along
ANY OBJECT CAN BE YOUR CANVAS...
From walls to wooden CD boxes.. a nice break from painting on canvas all the time.
What I found in the woods today:
I must preface this post with a disclaimer: I was in the woods for ten minutes, and entered very stressed. I was going to say "a mere ten minutes", but it wasn't 'mere' at all.
I found a reading tree. You know how rare those are (for me, at least)? It is a tree I can sit in and feel like I could sit there for hours and not be sore. It grows on a kind of hill where much of the soil has fallen away on one side so I can both climb in very easily and dangle my legs down. It is covered in moss, and the angles are perfect. There is even a ledge to rest a book in! Today, instead of climbing further, I stayed put, and leaned forward to rest my head against the bark and tucked my arms under my chest and just sat there, breathing in the scent of someone's wood fire nearby.
A dog came by and was somewhat concerned for its owner until she laughed it off and said to it, "She's allowed to be there, you know." And I thought, "Yes. Yes I am."
Then I wasn't stressed anymore and went on with my busy day.

THROW IT ALL OUT! THROW IT ALL OUT AND THEN USE THESE STUPID PEOPLE'S MONEY TO BUY MORE! Oh yea, I didn't tell you? If you live in Plainview, you're paying for this, because they just keep buying more books. Good thing a majority of the people not reading this think I'm just some ignoramus leftist moron, right? To you majority: I'm happy they've taken your money like fools; at least now people who deserve these books can have them.
*Ehem*
I have resolved to donate these books to Reading Tree. If you want to donate to have these books sent to the nearest location in Rhode Island, please click here or find the “donate” button linked to PayPal on the right side of my blog. You DO NOT need to have a PayPal account to donate. If you are interested in donating some of your own books, you can find a location to do so here, host your own book drive, or donate money directly to Reading Tree. I’d like to thank everyone who has donated for their support; every dollar counts! Hopefully next year I can coordinate with the Increase the Peace club at my school to depend on money from the school instead of relying on donations.
However, the most important part is you. If you go to Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School, make sure you let your voice be heard. If this angers you, let an administrator know. I know this wouldn’t be happening if people were upset about it.
