#real armour

Back in July of 2020 I scored some 2nd hand armour for a good deal! This is costume grade, so no fighting in it. It served for many years as a rental 'costume' and apparently a lot of guys would use it to propose to their significant others in it. This was 1 of 3 suits that the company offered for rent, and it was the one that was the most needing to retire. So now I own it... and I haven't done much with it since.

I lack most of the tools for even the simple fixes, like making and riveting on new straps. Although one day in the future I hope to find time, and help to get it fixed up.

While packing my armour for this year's Renfaire, I couldn't help but put half of my kit on and take these pics of me and my beloved plushie, Humphrey the Dragon.

Part 2 of the night I put half my armour on instead of packing it for the Ren Faire. Yes I know this looks stupid. But I was having a fun night waving my swords around for the camera.

Silly pics from when I was packing for a Ren faire. Instead of packing the armour up, I put half of it on. I know I look silly AF, but I've also gotta say that my legs look more muscular than I remember. Huzzah for working out!

I think I was a hit, I only met one other person in armour, (the Templar pictured).

4.5 hours in 50 pounds of gear wasn’t easy, but it was worth it!

Armour Thursday!

This is a throwback to late one night before the expo. I had to test a backup plan -- should my breastplate not work for the 4 hour marathon that I faced. I have to admit -- my old chainshirt (which I made myself -- even the links), form-fits me best. But getting my arms on is a nightmare.

But what do you think of this look?

I had a lot of fun, some kids had their pictures taken with me, and I even ran into a professional photographer, it was great fun!
