part 10!
first previous
Guess whos back bitches! I finally have free time so writing time :) this chapter and the one directly after are rather short, but I hope they fulfil your maribat needs for the timebeing.
After one year of her stay at the temple, she met some of the elder guardians, who had continued her guardian training. They taught her how to tell who was a true holder for each of the magical objects, the miraculous they called them. The people who were true holders of a miraculous had eyes that shine the same color as the kwamis did. Curious, the child asked the elders “Is it possible for one person to be a true holder of multiple miraculous?”
The elders looked sort of surprised that she would ask that, but responded “Yes, but not any more than two, any more than that and their health would be in peril. Same as when person uses a miraculous for which they are not the true holder for, for a period longer than 3 months,”
Over the month that she had this training they would introduce her to people who were proven by the elders to be true holders to her, and have her guess what miraculous they were the true holders for. Of course, she had never actually met the kwami, but she knew the color of all their eyes so she was able to make an educated guess.
The elders brought in a 20 year old girl with brown eyes that reflected white light. Thinking for a moment, the shield says “If I were less wise I would say that you are a holder of the bunny miraculous, but your eyes reflect light, they do not shine. You have an aptitude for the bunny, but you are not its true holder,”
After this repeated multiple times she began to lose faith in the elders knowledge, “Elder monks, may I ask why you did not send me true holders? You sent me those with an aptitude not those who are true holders,”
The elders look at each other before one spoke, “We did not know if the people we sent you were true holders, as nobody but the kwami and the grand guardian can tell who are true guardians, this was a test child. You are the grand guardian mauritius theus,”
The child looked up at them, a memory returning to her.
She saw a spear, and the boy she always saw in her dreams. He looked younger, maybe four years younger than she’d seen before, though that was just a guess. More importantly he was smiling. She had a feeling that was significant. She heard herself think ‘You’re smiling. That is enough of a victory for me in itself,’ and the boy looked at her confused, she couldn’t quite read his face just then, or she guessed she just didn’t remember it.
She was pulled out of her thoughts by the sound of crumbling stone, “Run young one, you will find where you need to be once you escape the area,”
She looked up before she got up and began running. She avoided running into the mass of people trying to escape, almost tripping on someone’s foot on the way. She ran for what felt like hours before she ran through the gate and collapsed. Just then, the temple exploded right before her eyes, and just when she was going to close her eyes she saw her old trainer hobbling across the ground. She tries to reach out for her but just then, a bright red and pink light transported her on top of the roof of a tall building knocking her out.
Down on the first floor, a pair were just locking up their bakery when they heard a loud noise. “You stay down here, I’ll check the roof,”
A woman says to her husband as she walks up the stairs to a barren room. The woman then walks up the ladder onto the roof. She walks over to the edge where she sees the girl, passed out muttering about something “No don’t make me leave, not again, please, don’t make me,”
