I didn’t have enough time to post these on the actual days. But, a very happy (belated) holiday to everyone who observed those three! this is a lost episode creepypasta that i wrote, therefore i don't expect it to be good nor do i expect it to be anywhere near nightmare fuel like most creepypastas. i will try my best to avoid any cliches. anyways let's go
Some people who are in the LEGO Movie fandom may recall a spinoff television show called Unikitty. The show centers around the eponymous pink unicorn-cat princess who goes on adventures with her friends in perhaps the most chaotic, weird but fun at best ways possible. I myself am a fan of it, and even though the later seasons are nothing to write home about, I still try my best to enjoy it. I even recorded some of the episodes on my DVR in case I miss them due to my bad sleep schedule.
There was one episode I recall watching that not many people were aware of, though.
One day during the holiday season around 2019, I was busy setting up recordings for the Unikitty episodes on my DVR like I usually did, in case I missed their premieres on Cartoon Network. Sure enough, I fell asleep and missed an episode or two. But that was on me, i have to admit.
I eventually woke up from my nap, turned on my TV to see that it was showing Adult Swim. I shrugged, convinced that I had missed another episode of Unikitty, thanks to my horrible sleep schedule, and I went into my DVR menu to check for recordings of the show. The episodes I had recorded were a mix of later episodes from Season 2, as well as the first five episodes of Season 3. However, there was a specific episode that caught my eye, titled "A New Beginning."
I read the summary of the episode, talking about Unikitty and co. throwing a New Year's party, along with antics involving Master Frown and the villains. The idea of Unikitty having a New Year's episode intrigued me, as they did episodes for three other holidays: Valentine's Day, Halloween and Christmas. I figured that the villains would attempt to crash the New Year's party, but I had to watch the episode first before I could jump to any conclusions.
I hovered over "A New Beginning" and hit "Watch episode" on my DVR, and as the opening Cartoon Network bumper and promos played, I went to the kitchen to get myself a snack before sitting down on the couch to watch the episode. The episode started off normally, with a stop motion short sequence of LEGO minifigures going about their lives, interrupted by Unikitty's face popping on a video screen, saying "Hiiii!" in her usual cheery voice.
However, I noticed something different in this episode's opening than all the others, and that was Unikitty being voiced by Alison Brie rather than Tara Strong. I found that to be very interesting as Brie only voiced Unikitty in the movies.
The intro continued normally, with Unikitty flying through the kingdom to greet her friends (Puppycorn, Dr. Fox, Hawkodile and Richard), snapping at Master Frown and Brock, jamming out with her friends, culminating with the show's logo appearing.
The episode began with a morning view of the Unikingdom castle, decorated with Christmas lights, as a blanket of snow covered the rest of the kingdom. The title of the episode briefly faded into view: "A New Beginning", as cheery holiday music played in the background. What I noticed about the Unikingdom castle is that there was a long rod from the castle's horn, and on top of the rod was what appeared to be a crystal ball.
The camera cut to the interior of the castle, with Unikitty and her friends decorating the living room in time for a New Year's party, singing a cute little holiday decoration song as they work (I unfortunately have forgotten the lyrics to the song). As they were decorating the room, they came up with different resolutions; Unikitty resolved to think more positively, Dr. Fox to be more innovative, Hawkodile to work out more often and Puppycorn to, well, continue being a dog. It was time for Richard to announce his resolution, but before he could do so, a public service announcement appeared on the screen, and the group immediately paid attention.
"Attention! Effective at midnight, January 1st, all analog services will close. Please switch to digital to continue watching your favorite programs!"
There was a brief silence before Richard spoke, only to be interrupted by Unikitty.
Richard: Anyway, as I was saying, my New Year's resolution is--
Unikitty: WE NEED TO SWITCH TO DIGITAL!!
As the group hurriedly made plans to prepare not just for the new year, but also for the digital switchover, the episode cut to Master Frown and Brock's apartment in Frowntown. They too witnessed the announcement on television, and Master Frown complained as he and Brock weren't ready for the switchover and that they didn't have enough money. Brock reassured Frown that the switchover is the least of his concern and that he only uses the TV to play video games, and resolved to be better at cooking and gaming, but Frown said that his resolution was to continue being a massive jerk towards everyone. The two later had a brief argument before Brock came up with a compromise (Brock promised to take Master Frown out to a fancy party as long as he spends the rest of the day not being mean), and Frown reluctantly agreed.
It jumped suddenly to a New Year's Eve ball, with everyone dressed in fancy suits and dresses, socializing with each other. Fancy, old-timey easy listening/jazz music played, almost akin to the background music from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (mainly composed by the likes of Heinz Kiessling and Werner Tautz). Brock and Master Frown were shown in their suits from the awards show episode. The former was openly greeting the other guests while the latter sulked but tried to act professional the best he could.
They eventually walked up to two characters sharing a toast: it was Score Creeper, dressed similarly to his usual attire but wearing a glittery black suit; and Eagleator, wearing his white tuxedo from the awards show episode. I was excited to see the two again, especially the latter as no one besides me seems to pay any attention to him (I noticed that Eagleator had a slightly bulkier build than Hawkodile).
Brock greeted them wholeheartedly and Master Frown waved unenthusiastically as Score Creeper and Eagleator greeted them back, saying it's been a while since they've seen them. The villains discussed their plans each for the new year, with Score Creeper saying he plans to invent more evil contraptions and Eagleator jokingly quipping about how his birthday is coming up in a few hours (an obvious reference to his debut in "Action Forest" which first aired on January 1st, 2018). Brock later suggested that he and the villains go to his house to hang out, to which they agreed to. Master Frown protested about him not having switched to digital, but Brock reassured him yet again, causing him to sigh. Just then, Unikitty, wearing a fancy glittery dress, made an opening speech to the ball's main event. Again, it's hard to remember what everyone was saying, so I'm doing my best to recreate the dialogue.
Unikitty: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls and everybody inbetween! We are gathered here today because we're just about ready to say goodbye to the old year and bid a warm welcome to the New Year!
The citizens at the gathering cheered. It skipped to another scene, this time showing Richard all alone in a supermarket that looks like it's about to close, muttering to himself where the TV appliances aisle was. In his shopping cart was food, beverages, bathroom supplies and others. It looked like he was stocking up before the beginning of the New Year, though logically not many people would be shopping at this time of night. He kept searching for the TV aisle until at least, he finally found it, observing the digital TV screens airing what appeared to be a concert, with a ticker tape below saying "Analog transmission ends at 12:00am. Please switch to digital."
Richard began to sweat bullets, and he immediately took one of the digital TVs, as well as a digital converter box, and put both of them in his cart, and quickly made a beeline to the self-checkout (almost all of the checkout registers had clocked out to spend time with their loved ones for the night). He attempted to scan his items, especially the TV and converter box, but was having no such luck with the latter two items.
Richard: Oh, screw it...
He immediately zoomed off with the shopping cart filled with items and left the supermarket in a blink of an eye. The shoplifting alarm went off as he made his way towards the exits, alerting the authorities, but Richard didn't care.
Richard: Why do we even have authorities here if the kingdom has no rules?!
Heck if I know.
As Richard sped out of sight, it skipped to a different scene of what appears to be Action Forest. The scene was much darker compared to the other scenes, suggesting it was close to midnight. Master Frown, Brock, Score Creeper and Eagleator were walking through the forest (possibly en route to the other side of the world that is Frowntown), having a conversation amongst themselves, laughing, almost like a group of teenage friends leaving a party after enjoying themselves and having fun. Master Frown was noticeably less grumpy and actually warming up to the two other villains besides Brock.
The mood and tone of the scene changed when they noticed a hunched over silhouette: it was Really Old Edith.
Master Frown's smile vanished just at looking at her, while everyone else was in slight shock and confusion.
Score Creeper: 'Scuse me, but who in the name of Heck is that?
Master Frown: Edith.... I've had many bad experiences with that hag.
As he was hinting at previous moments where Edith flirted with him against his own consent and will, Frown's eyebrows lowered in vengeance.
Master Frown: We need to get rid of her.
It wasn't a look of "I'm going to bully you" on his face either. He emitted no evil laughter - he meant business. The other villains were surprised to hear Frown imply doing anything to Edith, but he then explained to them about his past experiences with Edith (complete with flashbacks from "Cheerleading"). They all agreed reluctlantly at first, but then went along with Master Frown's plan to kill Edith.
The villains later went up to Edith, disguising themselves as hitchhikers seemingly promising to escort her back to the New Year's party.
Master Frown: Ohh Edith!
Edith: Huh? Why hello there dearie! My, you seem awfully familiar.
Master Frown: Uhhh, yeah. Sorry that I got uncomfortable with you some months ago, I had...
Brock: Dude. The plan.
Master Frown: Oh yeah right, the plan... (he resumes speaking in a sing-songy, fake-happy tone) Well, ma'am, you appear to be lost!
Edith: Huh, oh right! I am lost! I was searching far and wide for a crystal I had lost, and I wound up here, and-
Master Frown: Well here, let us help you! I believe the crystal you lost is somewhere back in the Unikingdom, so why don't we take you there?
Edith: Really? Oh thank you! My hero!
Really Old Edith suddenly kissed Master Frown on the cheek, causing him to gag.
Master Frown *sotto voce, to the gang*: You see what I mean? L-let's just go... eugh...
There was a jumpcut to later on in the night at the Unikingdom, with citizens gathered everywhere, even inside the castle, getting ready for the new year, apparently not noticing what's about to happen as they were all caught up in the moment. Richard was zooming back to the castle with the shopping cart full of supplies. As he approached the downtown area, he went so fast that the TV accidentally flew out of the shopping cart. A random citizen, Dino Dude, grabbed the TV with his hands, and the surrounding citizens cheered.
Richard: Oh, no...
Richard hoped that just the digital converter would be enough to make the digital switch, as the camera eventually cut to the top of the castle. This is where things get slightly unsettling. Really Old Edith was forcibly slammed and strapped to a large firework rocket by Brock and Eagleator. As Eagleator went to tie Edith up to the rocket, the old pervert protested.
Edith: Hey! You said that you boys would help me! What are you doing?!
Master Frown: Don't you dare think I haven't forgotten what you did to me!
Brock: Yeah, Frown has a good point. You haven't been respecting his boundaries at all. I'm usually an easy goer, but even I am appalled.
Just then, the sixty-second countdown began. Everyone looked up at the castle's horn and noticed the crystal ball on the horn's rod was slowly beginning to descend. As Score Creeper started to light a match to ignite the fuse, Master Frown and Brock continued interrogating Edith in her final moments.
Master Frown: You've constantly made all of us uncomfortable! You're a danger to society! What do you have to say for yourself, huh?
Edith: You... You've been a very bad boy, haven't ya! Why I oughta ground you and take away all your toys!
As Edith was ranting, the seconds ticked away quickly. I was at the edge of my seat. I hated Really Old Edith and wanted to see her get what's coming to her. The villains decided that they wanted to finish the job.
Score Creeper: Gah! I can't take it anymore! I've heard enough!
Eagleator: Yeah, let's just kill her already.
I was surprised to hear the word "kill" be said in a show meant for the whole family, but I pressed on watching in anticipation. Master Frown agreed that they've heard enough of Edith chastising him as if he were her grandson, and they immediately set off the rocket with Edith still attached. She screamed as the camera cut to all of the citizens counting down from ten, before it cut back to her shaking her fist, saying her last words.
Edith: You'll regret this! I'll be back!
The firework shell exploded right as the clock struck twelve. As the burst spread out, chunks of charred cyan LEGO pieces scattered everywhere, landing on a few citizens who became shocked, as the firework show continued, ringing in the new year. A beat, and then from on top of the castle, the villains celebrated their accomplishment; Score Creeper and Eagleator exchanged high fives and hugs, while Master Frown and Brock kissed each other.
From inside the castle, there was static on the TV. Everyone inside, Unikitty and Puppycorn included, were staring in shock. Hawkodile and Dr. Fox were also shocked, staring at the static, their mouths still connected. Everyone looked at each other.
Unikitty: What do we do now?
Puppycorn: What we always do.
Without warning, everyone took out sticks and excitedly smashed the TV as if it were a pinata. Hawkodile and Dr. Fox even joined in on the ruckus, with the bodyguard throwing punches at the TV and the vixen scientist spiking potions onto it. As the demolition derby continued, Richard walked in, with only the digital converter box. He was about to announce that he had what he needed to switch to digital, but his expression soured as he saw the carnage. He silently and solemnly shed a single tear.
The episode concluded. The credits rolled normally, with a jazzy, upbeat rendition of Auld Lang Syne in place of the usual ending music. I was weirded out by the episode, especially by Really Old Edith's death, but I can't say that she didn't deserve it.
Some months passed since the episode, and I went on the internet to discuss if anyone else had seen "A New Beginning" like I did, but everyone I asked said no. I even searched for the episode on Google, but no results came up. I even tried rewatching the episode on my DVR, but alas, it was erased from my history.
I learned that Crewnikitty had a Twitter account, so I privately messaged them if they had memory of producing the episode. After a few hours or so, they messaged me back, saying that while they had planned out episodes they never got to produce such as "Frownhog Day" and "Unikingdom 500" prior to the show's cancellation, that they didn't remember producing "A New Beginning" at all. However, they felt that if the show never got cancelled, they would actually consider producing an episode similar to it (minus Edith's on-screen death) as they thought it would be interesting if Unikitty had more holiday-centric episodes such as a New Year's-themed episode.
As I close out this document, I'm slowly beginning to believe that this episode was all a dream. But at the same time, I'm also hoping that this was a real episode, even though I only saw it once. As of today, there is no concrete proof that the episode existed. No screenshots, no video clips, no nothing. However, if there's anyone out there with evidence suggesting the episode's existence in their possession, I'd like to see it. I want to view this episode again.
