These 3 characters occupied a nest hollow in a River Gum above my camping spot and had many disagreements during the night, with Mum and Dad Galah having to step in often, from their nearby perches, to sort out. They loved having their pictures taken with serious competition amongst them to get in the frame.

After more than 2 days of searching I was richly rewarded with the sight of this little cutie peeping out from its nest. Backing off, and giving lots of space, two little numbat pups emerged to enjoy the sunshine whilst their Mum was busy at work gathering termites. They would have only recently been left on their own and are still suckling at this age.

A pair of Cockatiels enjoy a drink in the semi-arid country they prefer. Endemic to Australia they are nomadic, following water and food sources, mostly grains and seeds. Also known as Weiros for their call and as Quarrion by Aboriginal people, they can live for up to 30 years.

An eerie silence hangs over the landscape left by the Wooroloo bushfire north east of Perth which scorched 11,000ha and destroyed at least 87 homes, thankfully all lives were spared and one can only be amazed by, and hugely grateful for the courage of those who stood in the face of this furnace, thank you 🙏

What a tiny, delicate and dainty creature this adorable little hunter is! Always on the prowl for a termite feast, this pouchless, marsupial, diurnal carnivore, whose close relative used to be the extinct Tasmanian Tiger. Numbats are another of Australia's wonderfully fascinating creatures
