Reason #12

He inspires me.

Mardi inspires me more than anything else I’ve ever know. He inspire me to be a better person, to work on my problems, to get better, become more accepting, be a better friend, he is my muse in writing, the reason for my art work, the notes behind my songs. He is my sunrise, my golden brilliance that awakens every part of me and sets fire to my soul. He is my reason for picking up a pencil, is often the subject of my art, whether I’m doodling him playing his guitar or sketching the peace and love that’s written across his face as he sleeps. He’s my beautiful vocabulary when I jot down sweet poetry, words written in his image that paint pictures of my hopes and dreams. His voice is hidden in the keys of my music as I lose myself to a piano and just drift off to a rhythmic oblivion.

He is simply in every piece of beauty that comes into my life. His eyes are my palette from the earth to the sun, his soul paints the heavens and stars, bright bursts of color and light both breathtaking and awe-inspiring. He sings to me in the sound of the birds call, the roar of ocean waves and howls in the wind. He brought color and life into a world that was once dark and dismal, short and fleeting as I ran and hid, trying to block out the world and bring it all to an end. Mardi gave me my wings to fly, lifted me up off the ground and set me free in a universe of our making, of our creation.
