SenLinYu's first published novel has been rebound into a one-of-a-kind heirloom piece! Title page is signed by the author SenLinYu. Constructed with 100% cotton imitation black leather, the cover features a geometric gothic design on the front and back, as well as a gold title on the spine, all foiled in red and gold entirely by hand. The book edges are gilded in weathered gold foil, and the end papers are an original alchemy design by the artist @boypilotgoods on instagram. 

This book will be donated to the auction organized by Press The Patriarchy to raise funds for legal services to communities impacted by ICE. Starting Bid:  $100

Rebinding Charlotte Brontë's "Villette"

And it’s done! Lucy Snowe got her big make-over this weekend and I love how it turned out! I was a bit afraid that going slightly overboard on the pastel colours would turn out boring. But I think it compliments the novel’s heroine and the old, slightly brownish paper of the text block quite beautifully.

Materials used:

Bookcloth "Halbleinen" (260 g/m²),

Chiyogami paper (70 g/m²) for the cover with titles printed on 100 g/m² regular printing paper and glued onto the cover,

Hahnemühle Ingres (100 g/m²) as end papers,

One of these useless little hanging-up thingies from a sweater as a bookmark.

My first attempt at an Oxford Hollow for the spine. Still needs some practice but I really like the look and feel of it and will definitely use it for other, heftier projects soon.
