Alchemised by SenLinYu

SenLinYu's first published novel has been rebound into a one-of-a-kind heirloom piece! Title page is signed by the author SenLinYu. Constructed with 100% cotton imitation black leather, the cover features a geometric gothic design on the front and back, as well as a gold title on the spine, all foiled in red and gold entirely by hand. The book edges are gilded in weathered gold foil, and the end papers are an original alchemy design by the artist @boypilotgoods on instagram. 

This book will be donated to the auction organized by Press The Patriarchy to raise funds for legal services to communities impacted by ICE. Starting Bid:  $100

🌸 Hanami Odango Coptic-Stitch Journal 🌸

I had this idea of making a Sakura Matcha themed journal with Hanami Odango signatures. I think this is definitely one of my favorite binds ever.

The photos for this really don't do it justice. I would be willing to bind another one like it if I manage to sell this one. I know the price is super steep, especially compared to other bound books found in my shop, but it really makes me so happy that i made it and it turned out so well.

I think this is the best handbound sketchbook I’ve made!:D I still need to use stamps and wear down the spine a bit, but it’s almost done. Gonna be uploading this one and a few others to my sh0p soon, stay tuned:)

Also if this is popping up twice for you, I’m v sorry, I tried uploading it and it never seemed to on my end so I’m trying to just repost but I know the tumblr app is glitchy so it may just be in the process of uploading??

Idk sometimes I get stuck in an endless loop of uploading and it’s a 50/50 shot it actually went thru or deleted itself so \/(;u;)\/

I saw this binding method on Susana Dominguez Martin’s Instagram page on Sunday and my mind was so blown that I had to figure it out and try it myself.

This is genius for thick books 🙌🏻

After a long time off, I made two copies of this book, and was lucky enough to be able to gift them to their recipients in person - it's been the most amazing weekend at my first ever convention. I shouldn't be trusted with adult money...

The typeset for these took weeks, as I transcribed episodes by hand. There are plenty of mistakes, and I had the same printer or document issue as with the previous one, making the gutters and margins wrong; so lots to learn.

I used a thicker Japanese silk for these covers, which wasn't as nice to work with, but which looks good on these chunkier books. I used varying colours of HTV to try and match elements of the end papers, which are decorative papers from Shepherds which just seemed to fit the Hawai'i theme somehow.

Again, these hand-sewn end bands are silk, and I don't think I'll ever go back. It's just so much smoother and the finish is much nicer.

I adore this show and these characters; it was an honour to meet Tori Anderson and Yasmine Al-Bustami. They clearly love these characters as much as we do!
