Thinking about Royce and Pallad

Royce and Pallad are probably the most hated genshin NPCs to exist. Albert is also pretty hated but we don't talk about him, he's just weird. Pallad because he pushed Sucrose and Royce, pinning all fault and disrespecting our Benny boy. The thing about Pallad is that he has an excuse. Hypothermia doesn't just happen in the body but also in the brain. It makes your brain cold as well because it also freezes your brain thus altering your mental state. 

Pallad was a little confused and thought the glow was fire and at that point with the cold getting to him, he is on survival mode. That caused him to push Sucrose aside and tackle the traveler to the ground. Valid excuse but him getting in trouble once in a while is still a bit annoying for me. 

Pallad is in the grey area but Royce? He's still on fire. Well, both of them is still on fire but Royce the most.

Like, they took the "Sucrose kills Reckless Pallad" prompt and spun it into a devilishly subtle character study of Sucrose, "harmless sweetie", trying to reconcile anger and protectiveness into a "logical", "objective" framework, a simple calculus of marks on a ledger. And the Sucrose characterisation is just... ahhhh. Perfect.

The tally marks burn in her mind. And those are only the fresh ones, from the last few days in Dragonspine. There are precisely forty-five others, accrued over the last two years since she began the ledger. Since the day that Razor, bleeding from a dozen wounds and choking on poison, escorted a whimpering Pallad back to the city gates.
