I was bored so I made this Picker Wheel of Critically Endangered Animals according to the IUCN.
for science tag what you got and vote on this poll
the animal you got
I already knew of this animal and that it was CR
I already knew of this animal but not that it was CR
I did not know of this animal I will research more about it
I did not know this animal and I don't care
nuance
There are currently 95 animals in the wheel but it is open to expansion if anyone wants to suggest more species thaat fall in the CR category.
all of the animals on this list are currently also part of an Art project i'm planning where i'll hopefully draw most of them, but it is also very hard to find any photo or picture for some and i'd be more than happy for other artists to join too, either with this same list or making their own and covering more species
Freeing number 2 on the redlist like he's a wild unicorn stuck in a trap and it'sa horsegirl movie. [this hasnt happened yet but i will soon ]

veganism used to be the healthiest type of diet
but it changed as the food industry learned that veganism becomes more "popular" and started making vegan products that are processed and ultra processed
vegan cookies, vegan instant soups, vegan Nutella, vegan junk food vega- blablabla
the "old school" veganism (not the way boomers say "in my days everything was better!") was a balanced plant based diet full of nutrients
no fried oil, no processed sugar at all, no chemistry at all, no instant things, no junk
because it did not exist. the products that contained this were not vegan but now there are vegan variants of junk food
another sad thing is that the fruit and vegetables today are not as nutritional as they used to be because of the breeding
you all probably saw how watermelon changed through centuries
but it happens to all fruit and vegetables
for example peaches now contain 2 times more (natural) sugar than before and even in some zoos they stop feeding animals fruits because they became obese
they became obese from fruit that used to be an absolutely normal amount of food for them in the past. And so the zoos started to feed them green veggies more often. No fruit anymore at all
also now you would need 8 oranges to get vitamin A that our grandparents got from 1 orange
if you want to keep being on a vegan diet (and there's a lot of reason to do so) do not be ashamed to stretch your hands for vitamins and multivitamins
every person is an individual and so changes the needs of specific nutrients for you all
it affects not only vegans but everyone. The whole food industry is producing less nutritional food. Lemons full of chemistry to smell better. Chickens grow extremely quickly to look more "delicious" yet it makes them suffer and the meat is full of shit because they eat shit.
Less nutritional food that is poisoned... What is this world about? so many herbicides and pesticides are banned, but still the food is becoming worse and less nutritional
of course if you have a garden, the food you grow there will not be as bad as the one in the grocery store, but how many of us can afford a garden? how many of us can afford to buy food from local farmers? and bio still doesn't mean chemistry free, it's just a lie. organic is the same lie
the world is making us weaker, especially the rich who own factories, but if we become weak enough, there will be no one who will have the needed strength to change it
how much time do we still have to change it until it's not late?
polluted water and the ground and also the air, global warming, animal extinction, malnutrition, fascism in rise, illiteracy, holodomor, wars, poisoned water, poisoned food, fake comfort through social media that makes us bond with unnatural dopamine, fast fashion and consumerism, people locking in themselves due to poverty and lies and "social war" while the class war is solution that we don't realise we should commit
do we even have time anymore? isn't it already late?
The first in a series of animal themed art. I actually finished this one a while ago, but I haven’t had the chance to start on my next one because of school. All the animals in this series will be pulled straight from the IUCN Red List.
The Malayan Tapir (T. indicus) is listed as Endangered, with populations decreasing. It is the only tapir species to be found outside of South America, and also the largest known tapir species. They live in tropical areas of Southeast Asia and live for about 30 years. They suffer from a number of harmful effects such as habitat fragmentation and deforestation for the purpose of establishing palm oil plantations. They also fall victim to hunting and trapping.
