Lavellan is changing out of their travel clothes and armour when they find a patch of red, crystal-like fragments in their skin. Red lyrium. They try to remove the shards but it quickly becomes obvious that they are growing, not just projectile pieces. They quickly cover up the area, determined to hide this for as long as possible, while still keeping their mind, just until Corypheus is destroyed.
“Adaar? Is that really you?”
“INAN!”
re: me and @mah-blackberreh can’t control ourselves or our OCs lmbo (Adaar becomes Inquisitor, while Inan is a Companion - the trip to the future is a little more stressful than Adaar wants it to be)
bonus under the cut 8DD
Dorian is captured by Red Templars and made an example of. They begin to feed him Red Lyrium. When the Inquisition forces rescue him, is it too late to save Dorian from what has been done to him or can they find a way to reverse the damage the Red Lyrium has begun?
I’m raising awareness for a condition called Topical Steroid Withdrawal Syndrome which was acknowledged by the National Eczema Association last year.
The Dragon Age Inquisition Codex “To be Corrupted” describes the process of Red Lyrium Corruption like this: “ My body is breaking down. The fingernails were the first to go. I started to itch all over, and when I scratched, they peeled back. Clumps of hair fell away. Then clumps of flesh.”
- Both conditions include extreme itching.
- Redness and burning spreads over a large area of the body, possibly all of it (Erythroderma)
- Hair falling out
- Sleep deprived/drug withdrawal induced hallucinations or delusions (rare)
- Skin can break down and split open.
- Both involved the inappropriate/prolonged use of a high potency drug (topical steroids are acknowledged, though other forms of steroid medication are theorized to have the long term side effects).
- The ones who prescribed the medication are not to blame because they didn’t know any better, but there are some who like the blame ‘the system’ (e.g. like how Samson thinks the Templar Order uses lyrium deliberately to control the Templars and screw them over).
None of these substances are bad in of themselves (like characters don’t necessarily have to get addicted to lyrium if they are careful about the symptoms/their usage of it.), though there are risks if used long term. If you use any steroid medication, be aware of the signs of ‘addiction’ by visiting ITSAN.

Behemoth!Cullen - also known as ‘totoro!cullen’ AU
First post was cute, here have a bit more of what he’s made... Like, not reacting well too pain and being attacked, at all. And being quite a big thing now... He is not that easy to fit in places and to move without damages.
Behemoth!Cullen - also known as ‘totoro!cullen’ AU
It’s certainly the most AWFUL au i have ever think about. It’s fine to have AU where cullen is tortured, or broken or slowly dying from red lyrium because he can’t endure it.
Here... It did work. He turned into a behemoth. Red lyrium litteraly roots in his brain as shard on his head can proove it, and he is not himself anymore. He has turned into a very innocent, in the real sense of that term ‘no notion of good/evil or ideals and such’, massive creature. Who is just happy to be there and runs after Samson to hug him. Because he knows he loves him. He can’t explain why and is just amazed by everything he can see.
Cullen is not even dead or without personnality anymore, he is just something that will never be him again. Something that will go on fight if he is told that the “bad people” are going to hurt hm or whom he loves. And he will certainly badly react to pain, because he doesn’t remember it, it’s something that would make him angry and then he would just hide until Samson came to find him and reassured him that the bad people are away.
Even WORSE, imagine if he is a romanced!cullen. He got trapped, the inquisitor searchs for him and find this. Something that is still a bit cullen but not cullen either. And they look at samson and they both realised they are as much in pain than the other over that situation. Because they both love cullen deeply.
