Hi there, this is odoridango from AO3. Sorry in advance to spam your asks, I have not been on the tumbles in AN AGE and am basically nonactive - I have been sadly slow at getting to your serial BUT I finally got to sit down and get through the first half today!! First of all, I just really like Gudrun, and when I first started reading I thought it was just such an interesting perspective to start with because I felt that the traditional POV to take would be Kuth's (1/?)

I kind of agree that asks are limited - but hey, @’ing me in a post, or tagging me, will get my attention too, and don’t have post size limitations. I mean, whatever’s easiest, obviously, and I have to admit it was a nice surprise to log in to a full ask box :)

I just wanted to to say the Afterdrop Ch20 is GLORIOUS AND LOVELY and I have SO MANY Feelings; thank you so much for your hard work and for sharing it with us. Reading all these characters get their due is fantastic, ane the buildup is fantastic. I can't believe it was a literal gutshot, and the ladies swooped in to save the day! you are the best!!

i used to kinda think about this like there's ninja shit and then there's having to go around hacking for information and getting in buildings secured by passcodes, clearances, etc. That IT guy must have a hard life.

based on the description in ch 19 it's likely that these pieces would never be in hanzo's repertoire, but somehow imagining hanzo playing toccatina by mouse on the keys, or gogo penguin's garden dog barbecue fills me with an unreasonable amount of glee

Well, one never knows! It was McCree who went super old school, after all. The only other piece in Hanzo’s repertoire that we know is “Ano natsu e”, which is from 2001. It stands to reason that Hanzo might know more energetic pieces from the same general era. :3

I just wanted to say that the most recent Afterdrop chapters are AMAZING and lovely - the worldbuilding was amazing, the character interactions were interesting, it was great to delve more into Hokkaido and the Ainu and their culture, and most importantly there were CATS and Genji found out Hanzo fights bears. I am sad that ask word cts are limited. Thank you so much for your hard work and deigning to share it with us!!

AINU AND KITTIES AND BEARS OH MY

I love how people are fixating on the cats and bears–like, I’ve been planning for the cats especially for months and months and I’m SO GLAD people are just going, “Cats? Of Course Cats!!!” 

The bear, on the other hand, was a last-minute addition when I found out that Hokkaido has more brown bears than anywhere else in Asia except Russia, sooooooooooo of course he’s run into a few.

And I’m super happy that people have been so interested in the Ainu! They have a fascinating history that spans centuries, much of which is marked by forced assimilation and decline, so it feels good to bring a little bit of attention to that, in a small way.

So--there’s a few lines that have been sitting in the story notes for a few months now that I was tempted to put here, but since it won’t be long before we get to that scene, I’ll sit on them for now.

Because getting all these emails throughout an Advent Sunday with my parents and their guests sustained me.

tbh one of the things I’ve really liked in Afterdrop also is your portrayal of Winston fully taking on decision making and strategizing as SC. I think that’s quite rare.

You know, I didn’t appreciate Winston as much as I should have until the Doomfist origin comic, because that was when I realized how seriously he takes Overwatch as his family. It’s very personal for him, and I think once he found himself as SC he wouldn’t do anything less but his very best for his family. 

I’m glad you’re liking it! I hope you like the rest of what he has to say in this chapter, LOL!

More Ramya Trivia: she came online in Egypt, but was denied citizenship there, so she was a refugee for ten years before she was admitted into India.
