Bendemption is Going to Happen

It seems like people always forget that Star Wars—at its core—is for kids. It’s simple. It’s a FAIRYTALE. As JJ has said, Episode IX is not only the end of this trilogy, but the end of a nine-movie arc. It’s going to be hopeful. There’s going to be redemption. There going to be a happy ending. I refuse to believe otherwise, because if it all ends badly or Ben Solo doesn’t get redeemed, then what’s the point? What other lesson is there to teach to young children, other than “anyone can be redeemed or forgiven,” and “never lose hope?” And beyond that, storytelling-wise, it just wouldn’t make sense for this movie to end in tragedy as its predecessors did. JJ has said that this one will be “satisfying” and “hopeful,” and I think we can hold him to that.
