The Etiquette of Redesigns

A dumb quick comic I wanted to make for future reference. Redesigning is fun and should be for everyone so stop being such a dingleberry about it.

Like, being the founder of a redesign/fan design group on dA, I know all about sub-par redesigns. I made a lot of cruddy redesigns over the years. There’s a lot, especially in the MLP fandom, that are frankly too gaudy and have no attention or care for color theory.

But unless you’re going after the people who white wash or slim down characters for their redesigns, redesigns are fun and you shouldn’t rag people in and out for daring to add something on to something they like.

Designing and redesigning is an expression of be a fan and and artist. It can also be critical but trust me it’s not exclusive.
