There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. Pick a nice day, it suggests, and try it. The first part is easy. All it requires is simply the ability to throw yourself forward with all your weight, and the willingness to not mind that it's going to hurt. That is, it's going to hurt if you fail to miss the ground.

I have reflected on what drives me to particularly ship a pairing.
Starting from my OTP: SasuNaru, MadaSasu and Obikin
And I discovered that it all started from Naruto and Sasuke, from that complicity they show that can be reached even with a simple glance, but topped off by a heated rivalry that actually leads to real violence.
Here on Tumblr I found a sentence that fits perfectly with this idea: “it's not a true OTP unless they have tried to kill each other at least once”.
And, if you think about it, even Madara almost kills Sasuke and (at least in my fanfictions) the two are in contrast for the constant display of arrogance, which leads them to a fatal attraction.
In asking myself why I saw the same type of erotic and emotional charge between Anakin and Obi-Wan (although I like the couple Anakin x Padmé) I could not help but think about how I started the idea for this ship: when I saw the final duel in Revenge of the Sith.
Which, of course, is a duel between two who first considered themselves best friends, brothers, and they came to hate each other so much that Obi-Wan gets to cut the three remaining Anakin’s limbs. It’s similar to what happens between Naruto and Sasuke or between Madara and Hashirama (I ship them too, obviously).
And I came to the conclusion that this is what makes me fall in love with a couple: the continuous conflict between them, the hidden feelings for some reason, the impossibility of expressing them until the emotional outbreak, which turns into both love and hate.
In the end, their love is balanced in a unique complicity, unrelated to the rest of the world.
The strangest thing, though, is that I'm not looking for that kind of relationship in real life at all! I'm not looking for conflict, I'm not looking for someone to bicker with all the time. On the contrary, I look for someone as close to me as possible, remaining focused only on complicity, leaving out everything else.
Maybe I’m doing everything wrong.
I'm not ready to exsist. To acknowledge I've been seen, heard, noticed. That the things I left behind as markers that goshdarn, it I was here became something others have seen, liked, and possibly enjoyed. I called out into the void of space because I never expected an awnser. I thought I'd be alone, desolate, ignored. Instead, kudos, comments, reblogs. Conversations and exchanges that have left me with more friends than I started with, even while taking into account the ones I've lost on the way.
Yet a part of me doesn't think its real--let alone deserved.
I'm not ready to exist, but I've been existing anyways. I'm still here. You're still here. And it is kind of beautiful.
Sometimes, it feels bad to live my experience, but I also like that I get to live it my way.
Do I need to know how this feels?
No, but I would want to, but it's alright if I don't or experience it another way. Either way, I lived something only I did.
I walked there. I took a photo there. I danced to this song from a band that only has 615 listeners.
Maybe it isn't that I don't feel it the same way, maybe it's that I get to find out how to feel it my own way. And that's good enough if not enough for what I deserve.
Today is a new day. It's a day you have never seen before and will never see again. Stop telling yourself the 'same crap, different day' lie! How many days has that lie stolen from you? Seize the wonder and uniqueness of today! Recognize that throughout this beautiful day, you have an incredible amount of opportunities to move your life into the direction you want it to go.

I should say nothing about it. Just post it and that would be all but since tonight I went past my usual one glass of red wine I cannot feel that this is something that escapes most of us. We all know about this and know it to be true. Maybe not in so many words but words fade when it comes to feelings. And yet how many of us are lucky enough to experience this as it is meant to be?
