Evan Sharley gave a really good talk in the reform Mormon conference on revelation. She reflected on different ways to interpret it, and the potential harm that can be (and has been) done in the name of revelation, with some harrowing examples from Mormon tradition.
She provided some guidelines on how to write and present revelations in ethical ways, one of which was getting peer feedback in what she called communal discernment. I thought this was a beautiful idea, we talk so often about personal revelation, but when we work with other people we can gain revelation together.
