NEW VIDEO! What if porn and trafficking are more connected than we think?
We had a wonderful evening hosting #IAmLiberty tonight. Thanks for all your support, and for your prayers. We are definitely feeling blessed #stepupandstepin #defenddignity #refusetoclick
This was on my facebook newsfeed this morning, and I felt it needed to be shared
"I need you to meet Anna. She's into porn, but not by choice. You need to hear her story."
Silenced by Stigmas
After a woman is rescued from human trafficking, they are still far from salvation. They are faced with silence that is provoked by shame. The silence that is invoked by feeling inadequate. The silence brought to light with the feelings of being tainted or used.
These women are enchained, long after they are set free. Their imprisonment lasts long after they are banished to redemption. In this next phase of their lives, they are often crippled with fear, addicted to substances, and victimized by the programs they seek to find help. Yet even in these times where they find themselves unbound and liberated, they are followed by the shadows of their past. While their emotional memories plague them, they have more physical demons to deal with as well.
A majority of women who were imprisoned by sex traffickers, have been forced to be involved in the porn industry. After being beaten, drugged, raped, and brutalized, these women are forced to perform powerlessly like circus monkeys in front of a camera while the weak videographers and pimps direct their every move. Long after these women escape their capture however, they are forced with the reality that their helpless, naked bodies are forever trapped in the cyber world, to be forever sexualized and abused with every click of a mouse. These women are forever silenced by the reality that they are stuck behind a screen, and no amount of ‘rescue’ or ‘salvation’ can help them to escape. They are forever pawns and forever faced with the stigmas of society.
She is a slut. She is a whore. She is dirty. She is used. No. She is a victim.
