Ah the Elves. These muses, whether ranging from Thranduil’s queen to Legolas and Tauriel, have become a firm fixture in his existence and in his ongoing story. The AUs, countless emotions, and amazing ideas have come to life because of these lovely people. I doubt I would even be here without them. Again, under a cut because of length.
verisixl: WIFEY. Okay so Andy and I started off roleplaying as Hela and Loki respectively, and I remember she was one of the first people I ever met and roleplayed with. I didn’t think we’d go beyond the Marvel universe, but nearly three years later, here we are. She isn’t as active as before (she’s studying at an academy), but I look back and forward to all threads we have — and hopefully will have — in the future. She’s the kind of roleplayer who always tries to step up her game. She has her own take on a barely mentioned character in the Tolkien verse and even with all the AUs, manages to keep that strong, stubborn, but passionate muse she has given Huoriel intact.
reginaxsylva: I know I did this for you on another blog but what the heck Sometimes, you never know what jewel you have in your inbox. One ask was all it took and I found one of the best roleplay/writing partners and friends I’ve ever had. Nat puts a lot of thought into her characters, and when you read her replies, you can almost feel them as if they’re standing in front of you. She has this healthy mix of character reactions and background information that is easy to play off on. If that’s not enough, she is probably one of the kindest and most understanding people you will ever meet on Tumblr. Her humor and subtle jokes never fail to amuse and I just wish nothing but the best for her. :D
masterbowman: Their URL says it all. Master. A master at their craft (not to mention the stunning graphics and themes), Legolas’ writer will never be short on skills and talent. Whether you know them as Legolas, Prince Nuada, Sephiroth, or Rydia, their way with words and actions just capture the essence of their chosen muses. Also did I mention that they do in-depth research into their muses? Now that is a sign of true devotion. Not to mention that they can be a firm defender and a good friend. I can only hope that I can be as good a roleplayer/writer and a person as them.
wartrail: Lovely Heena. 1/4th of my ‘original family’ (the first Elvish royal family of Mirkwood I had on Tumblr). She’s not as active as other Legolas roleplayers, but I still love her to death. Her Legolas can be the adventurous elf from The Lord of the Rings, the serious prince of Mirkwood from The Hobbit, or a humorous, cracky version of the elf everyone knows and loves. Whatever thread she’s writing, she stays on point but can make you see Legolas’ vulnerable side. I’m just honored that I get to write with her.
thewanderingelf: Now this baby/young Legolas right here is just adorable. The grumpy little elf — emphasis on little because I think Kat writes him as being no more than 5 feet when he was young — has easily claimed a spot in Thranduil’s and my hearts. She makes a young Legolas so relatable with the height concern and not being taken seriously, and I love how she seems to have planned out her muse’s development as he grows, whether in the Tolkien verse or in the modern verse. And Kat is pretty awesome. Our Skype chats aren’t as much as I want them to be, but I am so looking forward to having more of those and develop both our characters together.
princepsimpius: Dark verses are something I enjoy doing, but to make it your main verse for someone who's been established as one of the 'good guys' is a huge step. But they do this so well that each reply of theirs serves to drive home the possibility of what might happen if Legolas did in fact, turn to the dark side. Each line is deliciously dark and evil and so...Legolas that sometimes you might find yourself wondering why Tolkien didn't consider a corrupted prince of Mirkwood. Then they end up writing young Legolas (yes young/baby Legolas is a weakness of mine) so well that I wonder how they took that innocent elfling and turned him into a menacing elf. Brilliance man, Just brilliance.
slumberingqueen: Cala and her writer are a joy. I also have to hand it to her writer for thinking of the possibility that Thranduil’s queen was just sleeping for the past two Ages. It just made her character seamlessly transition to the events of The Hobbit without much fuss. Her muse is a good combination of seriousness, humor, and wit, and it isn't difficult to see Calaerdis in Middle Earth.
in-starlight: Kit! Omg this writer and her Tauriel are one of the funniest people I have ever met. Our Skype chat (first one but not the last!) left me in stitches from all the laughter and her GoT AU verse that she kindly included me in is just so spot on for the Mirkwood Elves and dwarves that I will never be fully over it. She's also really nice and easy to talk to that you can go from Thranduil lounging on his fur lined couch to Tauriel and Kili sleeping with baby elks. Never a dull moment with her, whether IC or OOC. :D
evxnstar: Before she even landed in Middle Earth as Arwen, her writer was Elsa of Frozen fame and I think even Sailor Moon. I'm just happy she decided to make a Tolkien rp blog, because the fandom and roleplay community has gained an awesome Arwen. I'm just awed by how wise her Arwen is and at times I can hear Liv Tyler's voice in her dialogue. Beautiful descriptions and easygoing mun. What else can you ask for from someone who writes Elrond's daughter?
awoodlandrose: We've barely begun our roleplay thread, but we've had several OOC conversations that I can safely say that you have become one of my favorite people. I adore Milrin and if you know of her headcanon for how Thranduil's wife died....it's just so different from the other headcanons for her death (that I know of) that it will make you feel for her and cause ThranduilxElvenqueen feels like you wouldn't believe. Stay as awesome and kind as you are now, love! ^^,
ladysilmarie: Sil and Thranduil are still in their 'engagement' phase, but I just like how her writer was more than game for writing threads that explore Thranduil and his wife before they were married. She has helped me develop teen!Thranduil in ways that I never expected, and I will always be grateful for that. And her character is just so easy to love and youthfully mischievous. Thank you for being here. <3
hexelleth: You. YOU. You who are the bane of Thranduil's life and...nah, I'm kidding. :D Vil is a well-written and developed OC that I decided to go 'fuck it' and place her here instead of the OC post. Her history and the history of her parents and brother are just detailed and hashed out that it seems like she actually is from Middle Earth. I know others frown on OCs who have pre-established relationships with canon characters, but their connection with thrandxuilion is just so natural that I will scream OTP whenever the two of them are online at the same time. Vilshafel is living proof that not all OCs are self-inserts and that they can be well-developed as any canon character.
thrandxuilion: To be honest, I was a little intimidated by them when I first started seeing them on my dash. Then the thread started, and boy was I thrown back by how well they bring Legolas to life. I won't even try and compare them to other Legolas roleplayers (that's just silly), but I will say that they have a firm grasp of who Legolas is and how he might have developed from The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. That, coupled with their dynamic writing style, makes for one helluva muse.
And last (but certainly not the least)….
silvxnelf: Baby Tau. Thrandy's daughter. We only have one thread, yes, but the Thranduil and Tauriel paternal feels are so strong that I just can't sometimes. "Can't" in a good way, and I look forward to reading more of her threads. Their writing is a joy to read on the dash, and her crack threads are really funny! I would love to get to know them better -- whether through Skype or ooc interactions -- but for now, have all the fatherly love that Thranduil and I can and will give you. You're amazing darling, and I'm happy I get to write with you. :D
She half mutters to herself. Rolling her eyes she
opens her door so the young woman can enter.
“I assume you want me to cover for you?”
"You would be my saviour."
It was not easy for Tilda to admitt such a thing,
but she knew she could not go home like this.
Carefully the young teenager stepped over the threshold.
"Mom would kill me if she found out, and Tobi afterwards.
five times kissed [send all things and clogs your inbox]
The first kiss starts like most first kisses do. With an an accident. A simple brush of the lips, but it is enough to make the elvenprince stutter like an idiot and grasp onto the jar of herbs that nearly smashed to the floor. A kiss that becomes something he thinks about for the next few days. Wondering if she felt the zing his mother spoke of. Of course not. A ridiculous notion. She is serious, dedicated to her work, and he just so happens to be the son of the king. A prince who so happens to be curious about her work. She can never feel anything but annoyance for him. The second was more poetic; a brief locking of lips under the stars. A more physical promise that what they feel is mutual. A vow to face any obstacle life throws at them. The beginning of something new between old friends, two soulmates. It is the third kiss that announces new life. A grateful husband to his wife for giving him a healthy son. A kiss that is shared with the crying babe shortly after, only for him to return to the familiarity of her lips and the loving rhythm these make against his own. The fourth is made before battle. A wife’s promise to keep well away from the fighting, if only to uphold her duty to heal. A husband’s reassurance that she keeps her word, a silent I love you between two people whose gestures matter more than words. A last kiss, their fifth and final, yet only one participates. Farewell my love. A phrase he never gets to say. Cold lips no longer respond, possessing none of the warmth he loves. The cries of the child in his arms break through his reverie, his waking nightmare, and he retreats. He can no longer see her, the darkness of the tragedy in his life claiming what emotion, reasoning, and feeling he has left. Until we meet again.
