concept: one of those regressor type things where a character goes back in time and tries to find all their acquaintances from before they went back in time, except they find one of their teammates being tortured. They never knew this was part of their teammate’s history—they were always the sunniest, most cheerful person they knew.
a character who can reset a day if anything goes wrong, but they have to die to be able to do it.
whumpee was tortured to death but then went back in time to years prior in their life before everything went to shit. now whumpee has trauma from being tortured to death but can’t talk to anyone about because who is going to believe them / they need to keep the future timeline a secret.
a regressor was betrayed by a close friend or teammate before going back in time so they decide to use this second chance at life to systematically dismantle everything their traitorous friend has going for them before utterly destroying them out of revenge. the traitor has no idea why the regressor is suddenly attacking them because they have no memories of the betrayal or what came after.
think about it:
the traitor could be someone working with the regressor and suddenly their teammate is viciously angry with them for what seems like no reason.
the traitor was close friends with the regressor and is sad and confused when the regressor turns away from them without telling them what’s really going on.
the traitor hadn’t met the regressor yet and so is wondering why this stranger suddenly has such visceral hatred of them even though they never met. the traitor being hurt by the regressor and asking why, shouting at them, “what did I ever do to you?!” because they don’t understand
another regressor-type whump idea: regressor is betrayed by someone they trusted and as a result, something horrible happens to them. regressor goes back in time to get revenge on the traitor that hurt them and whumps the shit out of them without the traitor even knowing why the regressor hates them so much. the traitor eventually gets their memories back and now their feelings of hatred, resentment, and bitterness towards regressor are now mixed with guilt and shame as they think about their actions toward regressor.

still thinking about a regressor going back in time and finding their future comrade being tortured. they never knew anything about this but know that they have to rescue their comrade because they can’t just leave them to suffer like they did in the last timeline. now the regressor has to deal with the aftermath—the comrade they knew was someone who had moved past their trauma (or had learned to hide it) but this one has just been rescued so the wounds, mental and physical, are too fresh. they’re nothing like how the regressor remembered them to be. this version of them is scared and angry and bitter and resentful, while the version they had known had been kind and cheery and selfless. the regressor could then help the comrade through their recovery and help them learn ways to deal with their trauma, or they could feel so out-of-depth with the enormity of the task that worries of ‘what if i fuck it up’ plague their mind, not wanting to hurt their comrade further
a regressor dying horrifically after trying and failing to save a friend / loved one / teammate and then going back in time. the regressor still has their memories of that future timeline but the friend does not. regressor has the ability to give their friend back their memories but chooses not to because they want to spare them the pain and trauma that came from everything they went through, and decides to deal with it all on their own.
