I made this in the spirit of being reignited with inspiration, and purpose. A gentle reminder to continue on. Spurred also from the quote by George Bernard Shaw-

"I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and that as long as I live it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live, I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me, it is a sort of splendid torch which I've got a hold of for a moment and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations."

Reignite - The Expanse Fanfiction

Remember the 2-4-7. It was a rallying cry for the people of The Belt for years. Two hundred forty-seven children taken from Ceres, Eros, and the like, willingly given up by their parents to a research corporation in hopes they could cure them of diseases they had contracted through life in low gravity. However, the parents were lied to, and their children disappeared with the corporation.

Maris DeGraaf was one such child.

Adopted by Earth’s ambassador to Mars, and goddaughter to the fiery Chrisjen Avasarala, Maris knew a life few other Belter children ever would, full of comfort, joy, and everything money could buy. But she was ever aware of her origins, and vowed to make it right one day. 

A gifted and determined student, she graduated with advanced degrees in medicine, genetics, and biology, and took her skill set to space, first to Ganymede and then to Ceres, where she opened a clinic and began to help those who could not help themselves. But despite being born on Ceres, Maris was still very much an Earther in the eyes of Belters, which was a danger in itself.

When the Canterbury is destroyed, she is thrown into a collision course with the survivors, where her sins, unintentional as they may have been, and her true parentage put her in complete opposition of everyone she has ever cared for.

We will see you soon! After I heard big news from upcoming Mass Effect trilogy remastered, I've been quite excited. I miss Shepard's adventures and I can't wait to see how new version will look like. Sniper squad will be back again! My biggest inspiration to this image has been - alongside upcoming N7 day, Malukah's beautiful tribute to Mass Effect, Reignite.

Heart Out in the Cold (Reignite)

Summary:  Another Post 1x13 Story. This one starts immediately after the credits rolled. Alex waits for Michael to show up at the airstream, but Michael is someplace else and then... Things get complicated. Kyle calls Alex, Michael senses Max's distress, Maria calls Kyle and somehow the whole gang ends up trying to solve the huge problem of a dead alien and a resurrected human girl. Oh, and an unconscious sergeant, let's not forget the sergeant.

A/N:  While writing this story I didn't take any Season 2 spoilers into account. Mostly, I wanted to completely erase the love triangle from existence. Yeah, I also wanted this story to be the epic Season 2 AU with dismantling Project Shepherd, alien spaceships and stuff, but my brain being the way it is, I didn't manage. Considering Season 2 has just started, I’m glad I finally managed to at least wrap up this one story thread, meaning fix the relationship between Alex and Maria. Alex and Michael though -- at the moment all I hope for is that they can start over. In the future.
