Happy birthday!! I hope that it's such a lovely day for you! 💙 (And yes, I know it's not your birthday, but wanted you to know that I'm glad that you were born and that we are friends!) Now, go enjoy the heck out of today like it's your birthday and let me know how awesome of a day it was! :]
I was a little confused when I saw the notification for this message on my phone yesterday morning because it only showed the first part and I was trying to figure out the least embarrassing way to say “uh, thanks, but that was a couple months ago,” but then I set out for a perfectly wonderful day and didn’t actually read the message until last night and then I was like “aww, thanks Cindy <3” but of course I didn’t reply last night because sometimes all of the times I’m awful at social interactions but I didn’t want to let this one slip by, so hi (and thanks for the kind note).
On any given Saturday my theme is long walks and sunshine and yesterday and was no exception. About 21 miles in total which sounds ridiculous when I say it out loud, but it’s just a thing I do. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. The sun showed up and it was a positively beautiful day.
As I got to Balboa Park I caught the tail end of a church bell rendition of Imagine (yes, that Imagine) playing from the California Tower, which was an unexpected delight. Then I ran into this little dude hanging out on the edge of the lily pond.
I kinda felt bad for showing up without pizza, but really, he(?) seemed indifferent.
A little later I made it over to the beach. I decided to head down a set of stairs I don’t usually go down and ended up stomping around in a bunch of rocks for a while.
And then there was pizza and Oreos. So, you know, pretty much a perfect day.
