He, Rin, Sousuke, and Seijuro all got together that day to practice swimming. Honestly, they all said they wanted to help Rei improve his times, since they apparently felt the need to help him out. It didn’t seem to matter that they were all out of high school, now, and that Rei wasn’t a serious competitive swimmer, not like Rin and Seijuro were. They all seemed determined to make him better, for some reason.
After a long, hard practice, they all headed out to a sake bar to unwind. One thing led to another, and before long the three older men were drunk, leaving Rei as the designated driver. Not that he minded much; that’s usually how it ended up when he spent time with Nagisa.
Now, though, he’s not really sure what to do with the three of them. He’s brought them all back to his apartment, not wanting to leave any of them alone as drunk as they are, and they’re all sitting on various pieces of furniture in the living area chatting. Well, Rei isn’t doing much chatting. He’s spending most of his time trying to make sure his companions remain seated upright and don’t fall off the couch or the chairs. Taking care of so many inebriated men in their twenties is a definite chore.
Before he knows it, his three charges--for that’s how he sees them at the moment--are sitting side-by-side on the sofa with their arms around each other. After a while, Seijuro looks over at Rei, sitting in an armchair, and pats a miraculously open spot on the sofa.
“Come join us, Rei!” he suggests, his words slurred yet cheerful.
“It looks somewhat crowded at the moment,” Rei points out, tacitly declining.
What follows is a chorus of the other three men protesting and cajoling until Rei finally acquiesces and heads over to the sofa. There honestly isn’t enough room for him to sit there, but he squeezes in anyway. It’s pretty clear that none of them are comfortable like this.
Sighing, Rei makes to stand, only for Seijuro to pull him down to lie across all their laps. A blush floods the megane’s cheeks. This is incredibly awkward, but he doesn’t have time to even think about getting up before Sousuke’s arm is resting across his waist. Rin ruffles Rei’s hair affectionately.
“See what I mean?” Rin says, glancing at the other two. “He’s really adorable when he blushes.”
“Rin!” Rei protests, his blush deepening.
“He is pretty cute when he’s flustered,” Sousuke agrees.
“I think he’s always cute,” Seijuro chimes in.
Rei doesn’t really know how to respond to that, other than to blush harder and cover his face with his hands. The three drunk men laugh to themselves before Rin takes Rei’s hands and lowers them. They’re all smiling at him and, despite the alcohol running through their systems, Rei can tell they’re all being sincere.
“We were talking about it before we left the bar,” Seijuro continues with a broad grin. “We all want to date you, Rei. What do you say?”
He doesn’t know what to say. Rei has rarely thought about dating anyone, let alone dating three people at once! Is that something people do? He knows next to nothing about polyamory and definitely hasn’t studied it at all, so he really can’t think of a single thing to say. There’s only one thing that comes to mind.
“...really?” he asks, his voice somewhat higher than normal in his complete shock.
“Really.” The surprising thing is that it’s Sousuke to reply. “We like you, Rei. That’s why we wanted to spend the day with you.”
They like him. The thought keeps running through Rei’s head as though it’s a completely new concept. They like him. They like him enough to ask him out. All of them. These three amazing, intelligent, strong men are romantically interested in Rei of all people.
“Ah...yes,” he finally says with a bashful smile. “I would be honored to date the three of you.”
That may not have been the correct answer at the moment, not with the three of them as drunk as they are. The next hour or so is filled with plenty of kissing, making out, and pawing and groping that Rei isn’t sure he’s ready for quite yet. The three inebriated men eventually fall asleep, all somehow curled up on the couch together semi-comfortably.
Rei’s last couple of thoughts before drifting off are that he’s not looking forward to dealing with three extremely hungover boyfriends in the morning. And yet, they’ll be his boyfriends. A small smile adorns his features as he snuggles into Sousuke’s embrace and falls asleep.
The palace guard isn’t exactly thrilled about this. He would much rather be doing his job guarding the gates than visiting the sultan’s private rooms. He isn’t entirely sure what the sultan could possibly want with him, but he has some ideas. The sultan, Rin, is rather hedonistic, focused on bodily pleasures especially. It’s very likely that he’s planning to demand something physical--perhaps sexual--from Rei.
As he enters the sultan’s private rooms and wonders who Rin means by “us,” Rei is determined to deny the man anything improper he might ask for, as it isn’t his job. Not that he hasn’t thought about it, of course. The sultan is incredibly attractive, aesthetically perfect. But Rei has principles, and he won’t do anything without the proper conditions being met.
Unfortunately for him, the sultan seems quite adamant about keeping him there for whatever purpose he has in mind. His personal servant, Sousuke, moves to block the door shortly after Rei enters the room. That would explain who else the sultan initially referred to when he said “us.” Raising an eyebrow, Rei folds his arms across his chest.
“What can I do for you, Rin no kimi?” he asks evenly.
“You can stay here for the night and join us,” the sultan replies, grinning. He gestures toward the cushion he’s lounging on. “You’re very attractive, Rei. I intend to bed you.”
Rei lets out a single, uneasy laugh. “Bed me? Forgive me, your highness, but that isn’t exactly part of my job.”
Rin gives a nod, and a moment later Rei feels Sousuke grab his arms, yanking them behind him and holding them there. Rei’s eyes narrow as he tests Sousuke’s grip, finding himself unable to get free. He glares daggers at the sultan.
“Even as sultan, if you try this without my consent, it’s illegal,” he says matter-of-factly.
Rin sighs, offering a smile. “Of course I’m going to ask for your consent. But I know you. I knew you wouldn’t come without good incentive, and I knew you wouldn’t stay to hear me out unless I forced you to stay. Please forgive me for that.”
Rei raises an eyebrow once more. That may be the first time he’s ever heard the sultan sincerely apologize for something. He relaxes somewhat in Sousuke’s hold.
“Go on,” he offers slowly.
“Sousuke and I both find you irresistible, Rei.” Rin stands up, approaching him and running his fingertips over the part of Rei’s chest exposed by the vest he wears. “You’re incredibly sculpted and beautiful. Will you spend the night with us?”
Rei shakes his head no. “I will only share your bed on one condition.”
“Name it.”
“I require commitment. I will share your bed if you can promise me a committed relationship.” He glances back at Sousuke. “Both of you.”
Rin considers for a moment. All the while, his fingers are trailing their way over Rei’s chest. It causes the guard to shiver, as he’s not used to such intimate contact. Finally, the sultan leans closer to him until their lips are mere millimeters from one another.
“All right,” he whispers, his hand finding its way around Rei’s torso to rest at the small of his back. “You’ve got commitment from me. What do you say, Sousuke?”
The taller man releases his hold on Rei, his hands moving up to touch the guard’s shoulders. “Yes, of course.” He leans forward until his lips are next to Rei’s ear. “I’m both of yours, and no one else’s.”
Their lips connect with Rei’s skin at once. Rin’s lips lock with Rei’s while Sousuke’s lips kiss and nibble at his earlobe. A soft moan leaves Rei’s throat to be lost within Rin’s mouth as he returns the kiss. After a few minutes, Rin breaks the kiss, and Sousuke pulls back, as well. Rei catches his breath, offering Rin a smile.
“Then by all means, let’s enjoy ourselves tonight, your highness,” he murmurs eagerly.
And that is the start to a long night of pleasure for the three of them. By morning, they’re all completely sated, asleep in each other’s arms, and they couldn’t be happier.
Rei keeps straightening his shirt and brushing off his pants unconsciously. He shouldn’t be this nervous, but he can’t really help it. He wants to make a good impression, so he’s putting unnecessary pressure on himself.
“Rei.”
As usual, his name leaving Haru’s lips carries so much more with it than just his name. It’s also a reassurance, a suggestion to relax, and a simple expression of affection. Rei sighs and offers the other a smile.
“I know,” he says, scratching his cheek lightly. “I know I should calm down. But I can’t help it. It’s my first time meeting your parents, and I’m nervous. I really want them to like me.”
“They will,” Haru tells him with a brief nod.
It really is reassuring, enough so that Rei finds himself relaxing. It feels strange to be sitting in Haru’s living area waiting for his parents, rather than sitting there with his teammates talking about swimming. At the same time, this is Haru’s parents’ house, so it really shouldn’t feel strange.
It’s another fifteen minutes before there’s a knock at the door. Haru stands up, touching Rei’s shoulder as he passes by on his way to the door. The moment Haru opens the door, Rei sees his parents for the first time. Mrs. Nanase, slightly shorter than Haru, wraps her arms around her son immediately. Mr. Nanase, a good head taller than Haru, stands behind his wife, smiling proudly at Haru.
“It’s good to see you, Haru,” Mrs. Nanase says softly. “I’m so sorry we’ve been away for so long.”
“It’s fine, Mom,” Haru replies.
“Where’s this boyfriend of yours?” Mr. Nanase asks, looking past Haru into the house. When his gaze falls on Rei, the megane blushes, resisting the urge to straighten his shirt again.
When Haru’s mother lets go of him, he heads back over to Rei. His parents follow him, smiling warmly. Haru takes Rei’s hand. “Mom, Dad, this is Ryugazaki Rei, my boyfriend. Rei, these are my parents.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” Rei says, bowing to them.
He doesn’t hear anything for a moment, so he straightens back up. Once he’s upright again, Mrs. Nanase wraps him in a hug. It’s a little shocking, simply because this is the first time they’ve met and he wasn’t expecting her to act so familiar with him, but he hesitantly returns the hug. Mr. Nanase pats him on the back with a smile.
“We saw you swim at nationals during Haru’s third year,” Mr. Nanase tells him. “You’re quite the talented young man.”
“Thank you!” Rei feels his cheeks get warmer. Being complimented right off the bat is something he wasn’t expecting, either. “I would never have gotten anywhere in swimming without inspiration from your son and help from Makoto-senpai, Rin-san, and Nagisa-kun, though.”
“You’re too modest,” Mrs. Nanase says, touching his cheek affectionately. “And so cute, too! Welcome to the family, Rei-kun!”
For a moment, Rei is completely stunned. He really did worry for nothing, didn’t he? He hasn’t done much of anything, yet Haru’s parents have wholeheartedly accepted him. He doesn’t need to impress them, it seems. As long as their son is happy, they seem to be happy with his choice of significant other.
Rei looks at Haru for a moment to see a faint smile adorning his features. Although it’s not a broad smile by most people’s standards, Rei believes it may be the biggest smile he’s seen from his boyfriend in a long time. It’s definitely the biggest smile he’s seen from Haru in regard to anything other than swimming. That sight brings a grin to Rei’s face, too, as he looks back at Haru’s parents.
“I’m so honored to be part of your family,” he says, taking Haru’s hand once more and squeezing it. The prospect of spending the next couple of days with Haru and his parents is an exciting one. He can’t wait to get to know Mr. and Mrs. Nanase better so he can really feel like part of their family.
Prompt: “I thought we were having a moment there, you know, before you tried to kill me.”
Title: Haunted House High Jinks
Although Rei was the one who suggested he and Rin come to this haunted house, he’s finding himself more frightened by the experience than he anticipated. It’s a rather strange find, since horror movies and ghost stories rarely scare him; he can usually logically explain away anything potentially frightening about them. It seems that actually experiencing the same occurrences in person is something else entirely. It’s much more difficult to explain away the horrors when they’re jumping out at him around every corner.
He jumps as a scream rings throughout the building around them. Rin’s hand finds Rei’s and squeezes it reassuringly. It’s enough to calm him down a bit. After a few minutes, Rin’s hand leaves Rei’s to travel up the megane’s arm and find its way around his shoulders. Rei yelps a bit when the older teen pulls him close.
“Never thought I’d see you so freaked out,” Rin murmurs to him. “I thought scary things didn’t bother you.”
“Apparently I was incorrect in that assumption,” Rei replies, his voice wavering somewhat. “I’m merely being startled, that’s all. It’s nothing to worry about.”
“It’s okay. It’s a lot more like a real haunted house if at least one of us gets scared.”
“I assure you, I’m not scared, I’m simply--”
An inhuman shriek escapes Rei’s lips when something grabs his shirt from behind him. Moving on instinct, he swings his arm around to strike at whatever it is, but only manages to hit Rin in the side of his head, knocking him to the ground. The scare actor who grabbed Rei’s shirt takes off her mask and bows toward him, apologizing profusely. Rei assures her it’s all right as he kneels down next to Rin, patting his cheeks one at a time to try to wake him.
It takes a few minutes, but Rin finally opens his eyes. Rei breathes a sigh of relief, as does the scare actor crouched on Rin’s other side. She apologizes to him several times, Rin all the while promising her that he’s fine. Rin and Rei head out of the haunted house and sit down on a nearby bench.
“I’m so sorry, Rin,” Rei says dejectedly. “It would seem that the haunted house scared me more than I thought.”
“Yeah, I even thought we were having a moment there,” Rin replies, smirking. “Y’know, before you tried to kill me.”
“I wasn’t trying to--!”
“It’s called a joke, Rei. Lighten up a bit.”
“How am I supposed to lighten up when I just knocked my boyfriend out?”
To Rei’s utter shock, Rin simply rolls his eyes. A moment later, Rin’s lips are pressed against his. Rei closes his eyes, then, and returns the kiss. Yes, a kiss just might be enough to make him relax after his complete faux pas.
We are now on the last day of Rei x Senpai week, but that doesn’t mean we are not accepting late submissions! You may take your time, but please remember to use the tags #reixsenpai or #reixsenpaiweek in your first five tags so we’ll know when you have a submission!
Once again, thank you for participating and all the support!
For today we have 2 + Butterfly, or in simpler terms, the trio day! Here you can pair up Rei with two of his senpai(e.g. Rin x Rei x Haruka). There’s no limit to the combinations so please do enjoy working on the prompts!
Day 6 - HaruRei - “You’ve got something on your...”
Rating: G
Rei stood outside the art classroom waiting for Haruka. He always waited on Wednesdays because their last classes before practice were right next to each other. Rei, always punctual Rei, was usually left waiting for a few minutes as Haruka cleaned up after himself and talked with his art classmates.
As he stepped out of the classroom, bag in hand, Rei was checking his watch for the tenth time.
"Sorry Rei, I know you don't like it when I'm late."
Rei waved his hand. "True, it is one of my pet peeves, but I must learn to be more lenient. It doesn't bother me as much as it used to. I still wait for you every Wednesday, don't I?"
"You do."
"See? I'm becoming more tolerant of tardiness!" Rei placed his hands triumphantly on his hips.
Haruka stared at him, his expression blank. "Can we go? I wanna swim."
Rei blushed, his arms falling in embarrassment. "Yes, of course, Haruka-senpai! I'm sorry for delaying us even further!"
"It's fine. Let's just go." Haruka turned away from him and started down the hallway, Rei following close behind.
-----
Rei and Haruka reached the pool to discover that Nagisa and Makoto had already changed and were waiting for them poolside.
"I'm so sorry we're late, Makoto-senpai!" Rei bowed deeply.
"It's no problem, Rei! Just go get changed so we can start." Makoto smiled, eager to start practice.
Rei took off to the change room while Haruka stripped his clothes off right on the deck of the pool. Rei heard him dive in as he changed into his legskins. Once he was ready, Rei deposited his clothes in the locker and grabbed his goggles. He emerged from the change room and moved over to the pool, jumping in to get accustomed to the water before doing any rigorous training.
Rei glanced over at Haruka who currently faced away from him, conversing with Makoto about something Rei couldn't hear. He knew that he should leave them alone to have their conversation in private, but Rei happened to notice a short line of blue on the back of Haruka's neck. He crept closer for an investigation, but he couldn't tell what it was. He pressed onward through the water, getting close enough to engage Haruka in conversation.
"Haruka-senpai, you have something on your neck."
"Hm? What is it?" he asked calmly.
"I don't know, but it's blue." Rei looked closer, and Makoto glanced at the spot as well. "Actually, it looks like paint."
"Oh, I was using oil paints in art class today. I must have missed that." Haruka raised his hand to wipe at the back of his neck, just missing the streak of paint.
"Allow me, Haruka-senpai." Rei wet his hand in the water and began to wipe at Haruka's neck, the blue blemish quickly diminishing to something less noticeable, though not completely gone. "I'm sorry, Haruka-senpai, I can't remove it entirely."
Haruka shrugged. "It's alright. Oil paint is hard to get off. I'll get the rest later with proper cleaner," He graced Rei with one of his rare smiles. "but thank you for your help, Rei." Haruka held eye contact with him for a moment before dipping under the water to swim toward the end of the pool once again.
