When we walk up to people to talk to them, its not like we're going "hey", I picture Shepard is actually walking up and poking them.

Which explains why Garrus eventually just "not right now"

It gotta be so annoying, like someone who's had energydrinks and crave attention comes up to you and poke you as often as they can👀

Picture that:

You're just chilling at your station, and you get poked on your arm, you turn to look and now you're being interrogated about your life, sometimes more than once cuz clearly the commander wasn't paying attention to you. And then they run away, or jog away, but you know next time they're out somewhere, they will come back and repeat this.
