Details to show growth in a relationship - Prompts

so you want to show that your characters got along together? Want to show people they've learnt to be together? Here some details that can help you with that, having a "before×after" situations to show relationships growing.

Situations prompts:

Asking for food. Before: character A is at the restaurant and the waiter comes. A calls B to ask B what does B want. After: A knows what B likes, and goes for it.

Characters in a small place, as in a small kitchen. Before: they collide, step on eachother's foot, are clumsy. May break something by letting something fall when the other bumps into them. After: they're in synch. It's like a dance. They don't collide, even though their bodies are constantly touching. They're always gentle, never bumping, and they feel were eachother is going.

Getting used to eachother's routine. Before: A keeps telling B what A has to do, warning B of his compromises. After: B remember A what A have to do.

Touching. Before: maybe there's no touching at all. If that is, it would be on the others shoulders. Always keeping a slightly distance from eachother. After: they move closer to eachother. Having their legs touching while sitting. Holding hands.

Hugging. Before: side hug. After: frontal hug.

Silence. Before: silence is terrifying. They get worried that said something wrong, that messed it up. After: they just enjoy it. The perfect moment for thinking in their lucky and how much they care for eachother.

Dialogue prompts:

"Keep fooling yourself, but you can't fool me. What's wrong?"

"You forgot the keys." "Yeah..." "That's why I always have mine with me."

"Are you sure you're okay to do this?"

"Can you do it?"

"Wait... Your late for your class! Run!"

"Hurry, I have to tell you something."

I love how excited Rios is for the 21st century and for real food - it's incredibly sweet - but what I love even more is that Raffi knew from the start that it isn't just the things around them.

I love how excited he is that she knows and he can tell someone - he can tell her - Raffi his friend (!) about this, about his crush.

And i love how happy she is for him!

She probaly never seen Rios like this or - since we don't really know thier story - she didn't see him like this in a long time. Not even with Agnes. (This is material for different post, but they always were for me more like friends with benefits than anything else. Just two lonely people looking for even momentary comfort and some care from someone who's willing to give this.)

So now Raffi is happy because despite the situation they're in, Rios - her friend - is smiling again and this is a true, warm smile.

At least until she realizes:

And she immediately switches to sober-minded mode and tries to bring him back too.

And oh! This that we can see his emotions! Amazing and so heartbreaking.

She knows that this relationship don't have future and that, that's probably to late for him to get out of this without broken heart.

And she's probably thinking about all possible scenarios including the one when Rios fall in love and wants to stay on earth in 2024 and all the possible consequences it may have. (Well i was thinking about Rios staying on the 2024 earth with doc au fic since 2x03)

And more important about that, that then, she could lose him too. (Maybe that's why she sees Elnor soon after.)

And then Rios is changing subject - probably after having a lot of similar thoughts - and they're talking about Seven.

And that kiss. This friendship love. I'm here for this as much as i'm for Cris and Teresa.

All this scene is so precious because we don't get lot of this kind feelings and emotions talking scenes. After Elnor's death we should've get Raffi and Rios scene. But instead of this we're just getting all of this here. In this one short - but how important - kiss.

So i'm so thankful to writers for giving us this this wonder.
