𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥𝙨 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙙 𝙖 𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚? 🤔👥

I always took for granted my relationships with other humans. They were not important to me because I believed strength came from isolation. This belief may have been generational or something from deep in my psyche. Either way, I never considered all the experiences, lessons, and energy that makes up a friendship, business partnership, etc. In hindsight, all of my best qualities came from the people I have come across in this lifetime (and other lifetimes too). I'm slowly starting to balance developing meaningful relationships with my inherent desire to focus on myself. My journey is not solitary. I want to thank everyone who has played a role in my life because without you, I would not be the person I am today.

Considering that many individuals are beginning to “realize things” at this particular time, imagine this. Our education system is merely a reflection of these same inequities that fail to foster a safe, equal, and humane society for black and brown individuals to thrive and succeed. What could you do to fight racism every day? Take the time to understand the intersectionality of the black lives matter movement, and it’s direct relation to historically overwhelming inequitable outcomes for students of color. Encompassing a lens of Anti-racism ensures we’ll identify these patterns across settings, which remains crucial in taking transformative action toward a just and equitable world! <3
