judblanc deliciousness aside, I just adore Jud as a character so much. he has such conviction, is so stedfast in his beliefs and values, even when he can't have that same faith in himself. he is a true example of how a person who calls themselves religious should act. he is not blind or naive to how flawed and awful people can be, in fact he's intimately aware of that, and yet every chance he gets, he chooses to be empathetic without being a pushover. all that Catholic guilt but not once does he seem ashamed of his past. he knows what he did and he clearly deeply regrets it, but he's not trapping himself in a cycle of self-loathing, he's actively trying to do better and help people. he know what he's meant to do, who he's meant to be; he's found his purpose in life and he won't let anything, be it murder or lustful gay thoughts, stop him from doing it.
