Have you ever wondered who are all the apocryphal saints?

He winces weakly, shaking his head, his curls bouncing about his ears. He holds out panicked hands, warding off the wash of humans as they all stare at him with divine blight, their faces all creased into love. Love that he cannot feel, cannot touch, cannot see. "Not a Saint!" He yells as the crowd sweeps him away from the door. "Much the opposite!"

I've been thinking about working with light (proper light, not the lousy one that I could paint) for a while, and I'm so happy I did it with this piece.

Also, the feeling of painting a whole piece then taking a knife and going at it? And with the added feeling of creating instead of destroying something? Fun.

Shoutout to grimboigio for the idea of adding gold to the rips near the eye, it made all the difference. And shoutout to the 3 people who'd helped me digitalise this:D
