I know in my heart Tonks is a twilight enjoyer but swears it’s ironic. Lucky (oc) recommended it and Tonks was thinks it’s so dumb but ends up binging it. They keep showing Remus passages about Edward’s self loathing/where he keep calling himself a monster and is like “lol it’s you”

Remus is like: no it’s not stop comparing me to a sparkly teenage vampire. He’s not even a real vampire, he’s a Mormon angel

Tonks: But look, he even leaves Bella for a bit. Just like you left me!

I must admit, I really enjoy baby fits. I think they’re really cute and a lot of fun. When looking at Remus & Teddy fics, I started to notice a pattern of “Tonks is an absent mum and Remus is a single dad and then he meets Sirius” esq. fics

Of course, anyone is allowed to write and enjoy whatever they like but to me the genre feels sexism. (not accusing anyone, I haven’t read their work. But to write off the woman/mum for the purpose of writing the dad and his male partner is not for me) I’m a wolf star enjoyer, but I also really really like Tonks. She’s top 5 for me. (oh I also don’t like how Tonks is treated in a lot of wolfstar fics but that’s another topic.)

To me, Tonks and Remus are platonic soulmates the same way the James and Sirius were. It’s such a deep and powerful kind of love that goes beyond romance. Romantic love is the end-all, be-all for all people. 

 I really want to explore that relationship and Sirius jealous and insecurity and Remus counting with reminding him that how he felt about James. I think it would be really interesting. 

Anyways, here’s my fic. It’s a POA AU where Remus and Tonks are co-parenting Teddy, Remus is balancing teaching and being a dad, Tonks is on maternity leave and bored, so she’s in everyone's business, Sirius is planning how to kill Peter and also howling to break up ballads because his partner got cishet married (the horrors. the betrayal. sorrows sorrows prayers)

summary:

1993. After a drunken hook-up, Tonks finds themselves pregnant. Not really want they had planned for this stage of their life, but they’ll make it work. Remus never imagined himself as a Father. Still can’t. And now he has to balance learning how to be a father with the responsibilities that come with being the new DADA professor, and his former partner escaping Azkaban. He doesn’t need to fear for Teddy’s safety, right? Sure, Black was a murderous traitor, and sure, he probably hated him, but he wouldn’t go after his son… Right?

This may be me taking things too seriously or being too sensitive but I find it a bit weird when people saying Tonks “deserves” better than Remus or Remus doesn’t deserve Tonks

Whether it’s intentional or not, how I’m interpreting it is this disabled mental ill guy with a highly stigmatized condition doesn’t “deserve” to be loved by this (whatever praise they choose to give Tonks as a way to justify this statement)

Disabled, people with mental illness, people with stigmatized conditions are always told they don’t deserve love. Anytime someone who’s conventional attractive is seeing with anyone that’s viewed as a social outcast, they’re told they can do better, jokes about how obviously they’re after their money, etc etc. they just can’t fathom the idea of someone loving them.
