About me:
I genuinely wonder if people realize how many projects get abandoned because the readership "wasn't there", when in reality, the readership just stayed silent. It's a big thing in trad pub that book series get discontinued because readers pirate the books or wait until the series is finished to buy a copy, leading the publisher to think that nobody actually wants the book enough to continue the series, but it happens with indie creators too.
I've discontinued a lot of free, online series because it's not worth putting 3-5 hours a week into posting a project for no readers. Sometimes I finish the series for me but just never post it again, other times I don't finish it at all because it feels more worthwhile to put my time into other things. Sometimes I hear from readers who are sad or upset that I didn't finish something they were liking, but the *reason* it never got finished is because I didn't know anyone liked it. If you like something, tell the creator, tell your friends, make some noise about it. If you would be sad if a story never finished, make that interest known because one of my biggest considerations before discontinuing a series is "will people miss this? Will I be letting people down" and 9/10 times, I come to the conclusion of "no, it doesn't even seem like anyone's reading this" only to learn after I've moved on that apparently someone was.
I've said this before in a different way, and this post said it so well. With real examples. If you like something, tell people.
If you want more content from an artist or author, if you like their stuff, tell them. It will give them creative fuel to keep going. And often it gives them other resources as well. Recommend a work to other people. Leave a comment or a review. It doesn't have to be long, just genuine, a sentence or two. Not many people know that a book's success is judged by book reviews as well as sales. Review the book on Amazon or another site to help it pass the metric of success and be recognized by publishers and retailers.
Talking about it amongst yourselves in a Discord server or whatever doesn't count, by the way. You have to tell the creator, too. They're not going to hear about anything that gets said in your little server unless you tell them about it.
That âcomment on your a03 workâ email hits like a line of cocaine every time. unmatched dopamine increase. shoutout to everyone who leaves a comment on fics. you deserve the world
Racism in fandom spaces is actually insanely bad and if you ever try to downplay or avoid conversations about it because "fandom is supposed to be fun" then I'm not sorry to say this: You're adding on to the problem.

New ship dropped Tonks/Marlene đ€
What subtypes of Pure OCD I think Remus Lupin would have:
DISCLAIMER: Remus is obviously the opposite of all these fears and I know that logically he would know all of this is false but OCD is awful and I think these themes would never totally go away even though they obviously got much better in the seventh book once he faced his fears with Tonks.
HOCD: I mean, this one is pretty obvious but I think he would have a genuine terror of hurting others not only when transformed but at all times. In cannon he clearly has a lot of self loathing because he's dangerous and I think this fear would never leave him for one instant. There so much misinformation going on about his condition and everyone else like him. I think he would internalize it and even in the later years after spending time working through the lies to recognize the truth he would still struggle with compulsions and obsessions over being out of control of his own actions in the every day. That's why he pushes people away - he's terrified of harming them. Later in the war it turns into a fear of harming Tonks in particular that's so strong he leaves home so he doesn't harm her. He's a lot like Harry, seeing his anger as a sign he might harm someone and because he got angry at Tonks he freaked out badly.
Scrupulosity: Remus would be terrified of being an evil person. He doesn't want to be one of the evil werewolves and tries to do everything to be one of the good one. He sees himself as corrupt and weak inside which is exactly why he would be so shaken by the realization that the Marauders thought he was the traitor in the third book. It sends him into a spiral making him check himself over and over to try to feel like he's "brave" enough. He also believes he wasn't as good as James and Lily and is so wracked with guilt over being the one alive. In his mind his weakness caused Sirius to betray James. He also deep down believes he let Sirius be corrupted. His obsession over proving his bravery backfires in the later books making him start to fully believe that he caused Tonk's unhappiness and is too old to be worth anything. Naturally this is ridiculous but the combined burden of the real fear of the death eaters cracking down on werewolves, his fear of harming her, and the belief that he was weak and corrupted (and could corrupt his future child genetically) caused him to freak out.
POCD - This might be uncomfortable but I genuinely believe Remus would suffer from this subtype. He was preyed on as a young child and was likely told that all werewolves preyed on children as well. He'd therefore be terrified that he was doomed to be a child predator. I think teaching at Hogwarts terrified him to his core because he was having to face not just children but the child of his dead best friend. I think his fear of being a predator is what caused him to always give Harry space and not try to adopt him. Deep down he's scared he's somehow "grooming" Harry.
SO-OCD - Yeah this would make Remus go a bit crazy from Hogwarts onwards. When he loved Sirius he was constantly questioning whether he was truly queer or just wanting attention especially since he had liked girls in the past. When he was with Tonks he had an awful OCD attack about whether he was just misleading her and had always been gay even though logically he knew this couldn't be true.
Magical Thinking OCD - Remus would spend literal hours after the Marauders died thinking about what he should have done differently. He'd also think for hours about how he could save Harry and destroy Voldemort even though logically he knew he couldn't do either. He would always feel responsible for when Voldemort succeeded because deep down he blamed himself for what happened those years ago.
False Memory OCD - Remus spent years trying to figure out what he had forgotten in the past about Sirius after Sirius went to Azakban. He'd be like a detective searching through every memory to find something that would be the missing piece to the "obvious" signs of Sirius being evil.
Emotional Contamination OCD - He'd have pretty awful EC when spending time with the Slytherin's during Hogwarts days fearing that he would become evil when around them and later when spending time with the werewolves Dumbledore asked him to. He'd try to think the right thoughts and convince himself that he still held to the right beliefs when around them. He'd also believe that he could contaminate those around him. Tragically this fear applied to the Marauders before they died leading him to believe he corrupted both Sirius and James in different ways.
Your Blorbo had to eat the last food you ate (not a leftover, but the exact same food that you ate; for instance, if the last food you ate was Jajangmyeon, theyâd have to eat a fresh bowl of Jajangmyeon too). Would they be happy about it?

theres just something so good about older, scarred, and grizzled marlene whose a cog without a machine to turn in because she shouldâve died in the war and she didnât paired with fiery, energetic, young tonks, constantly itching for a fight theyâve never had but know that theyâve inherited somehow
they are scheming
we really should be calling it fanworks, not content

I know in my heart Tonks is a twilight enjoyer but swears itâs ironic. Lucky (oc) recommended it and Tonks was thinks itâs so dumb but ends up binging it. They keep showing Remus passages about Edwardâs self loathing/where he keep calling himself a monster and is like âlol itâs youâ
Remus is like: no itâs not stop comparing me to a sparkly teenage vampire. Heâs not even a real vampire, heâs a Mormon angel
Tonks: But look, he even leaves Bella for a bit. Just like you left me!
Remus: oTL
Read my fic the twilight stuff will be canon

Tbh idk if Iâll even keep posting on ao3 if no one is going to bother to comment. I see the hits, I see previous comments of people saying they love the story but my last chapter got one comment. This recent chapter has gotten none and itâs been up for three days.
