Remadora: is it a lavender marriage?
There is something I don’t understand; for the past few days, people on social media were saying that Remus and Tonks’s marriage is a lavender marriage. I didn’t know what that meant so I searched it up and why people do it: basically, lavender marriage means a marriage between a homosexual/bisexual person with a straight one and it’s between men and women, you know, marriages in the usual way. But when I searched for the purpose of it, I got that they are made to hide sexuality and to not be hated among others. Well, Remus and Tonks weren’t a lavender marriage, their marriage is the complete opposite of lavender marriage because Remus hasn’t fallen in love with anyone before Tonks (confirmed on Pottermore), and there was no textual evidence that either of them or both are queer or bisexual. When I first read the books, I felt like both of them were straight and there is no way they could be queer, but when I started to stan them and go through the remadora tags, I kept on seeing that they were headcanoned to be bi. And as time passed, people started saying that their marriage is a lavender one, teddy was the result of their lavender marriage, and people started saying that the two previous statements are canon, but they’re not!
I’m not saying you can’t express your opinions and headcanons.
I’m saying don’t mix fanon with canon.
And I’m saying that Remus and Tonks are canonically straight and it wasn’t a lavender marriage at all.
Hope you understand, have a great day/night <3
Remus: *sees Tonks, blushes intensely, bites his lips, and sweats*
Sirius: Moony, what’s wrong with you?
Remus:
Tonks (from the other side of the room): *sees Remus, smiles and waves at him*
Remus: *blushes even more*
Sirius: *smirks*
Remus: PADFOOT, THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT I-
Sirius: *still smirking* you love Tonks, don’t you, Moony?
Any wolfstar shipper: *writes a wolfstar fanfic*
Sirius: *reads it*
Sirius: *feels disgusted bc he likes James even more than Remus and believes that Remus and Tonks are a perfect match for each other*
Sirius (in Molly’s style): WOLFSTAR SHIPPERS! HOW DARE YOU WRITE A SO-CALLED ‘CANON COMPLAINT’ FANFICTION ABOUT MY SO-CALLED ‘ROMANCE’ WITH REMUS?! I AM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED! YOUR FATHER’S FACING AN INQUIRY AT WORK AND IT’S ENTIRELY ALL YOUR FAULT! NOW ONE MORE TOE STEPPED OUT OF THE LINE AND I WILL SEND YOU STRAIGHT. BACK. HOME!!!! 🤬🤬🤬
Sirius: Oh, and Remus, congratulations on your marriage with Tonks, everyone is so proud 😇
Ok now can someone explain why the hell w*lfstar became a popular/trending tag???
every time I find a remadora post on the remadora hashtags, I find w*lfstar tagged bc it is a w*lfstar post, not a remadora one.
Remadora is pretty popular but hated by the w*lfstar fandom bc it’s canon.
bonus that there are much more w*lfstar shippers than remadora shippers.
remadora being tagged on w*lfstar posts will never not piss me off.
