Marlene Mckinnon x Reader

You always hear people talking badly about Marlene McKinnon you never understood why. You were always curious about her. What happens when you're put in the same group together?

During all of your classes that day all you could think about was Marlene and how excited you were to study with her, as you made your way to dinner you heard a little cough beside you, when you looked up you saw Marlene there beside you.

“Hey y/n,” she says with a smile. ”Hey” you responded walking a little slower so she could keep up. you both were silent for a bit before you had an idea. “Marlene do you maybe want to sit with me and my friends for dinner?” you bite your lip with a smile hoping she’ll say yes. She looks down almost sadly.

“I don't think so y/n Sirius doesn’t like me,” she says softly.

“well, one I’ll smack Sirius if he says anything rude to you and two im not sitting with them im sitting with the girls” When you say that she looks at you almost in awe and you dont notice her cheeks turning red. ”Alright then sure” You both smile at each other. chuckling you wrap your arm in hers and lead her to the great hall. As you get in there people stare at you and talk but you ignore them leading her over to Lily and Mary.

“hey, guys you know Marlene right?” you ask pulling her up beside you. ”Yeah hey marlene I'm Lily Evans” Lily holds her hand out and they shake it.

“im Mary McDonald” They shake hands too. you and Marlene sit across from Lily and Mary and you smile at her.

“Dorcas joins us sometimes too but mostly she sits with the Slytherins” You nod over to the table all the way across the room. you guys sit and talk a bit while dinner starts coming closer to the end.

“uh y/n we should probably start working on our project before curfew,” she says softly and you nod. ”you're right let's go” I turn to Lily and Mary. “we have to go work I'll see you in the dorm?” you ask standing up.

“yeah see you soon” They both wave as you and Marlene start walking out. you walk together silently to the library. usually, you would dread the silence and feel awkward but with her it's different. you know if you wanted to you could talk but the silence is nice. you look and see that Marlene has her hands hanging loosely by her sides and the thought pops into your head that it would probably be nice to hold her hand. you blush and shake that weird thought from your head. you make it into the library and grab some books before sitting together and reading silently. before you know it, it was after curfew and you two hadn't noticed.

“Marlene?” you whisper. she looks up at you curiously then looks around seeing no one.

“where'd everyone go?” she whispered back. ” it's after curfew, we have to sneak out of here or Filch is going to give us detention.” you both quickly grab the books put them away and sneak through the halls. suddenly you hear the pitter patter of what has to be Mrs. Norris’s steps. you quickly grab Marlene’s sleeve and pull her into an empty classroom. you were pining her against the closed door and breathing heavily. when you heard the steps were gone you realized the position you were in and started staring at Marlene, you really wanted to kiss her. you quickly pull away blushing and cough awkwardly.

“I think we're good to go” Marlene nods in agreement and turns opening the door and making sure it is clear before walking out. you follow her out and walk silently all the way to the common room. once you got there you turned to her.

“well… goodnight” you whispered and she smiled a little. ”goodnight” you nod smiling back and running upstairs to your dorm. once you got there you saw Lily and Mary still awake and sigh at them.

“what's wrong y/n/,n” Lily asks worriedly.
