probably last part for a bit since I dont want to first introduce Ikaika within an au
Penelope Theresa S. Kanahele (she/her): A young woman who wants to become a scientist. More specifically one who studies aitheriology, the study of blood monsters yes I made that word up shhh. Since they only started appearing about 50 years ago, scientists and technology have been advancing to try and learn more and more about what they do, how they live, so on. In Penelope’s case, she’s fascinated by the monsters. Yeah, they cause havoc, destroy things, and generally bring tragedy wherever they go, but are also said to be angels? Does it not add to the allure? She’s studying to work mainly in labs but aims to be able to be given Blood Monster remains after a fight for herself to study it. When she isn’t on campus studying, she’s either in her tatay’s library or at her tita’s animal shelter. She’s a busy woman and her goals can’t wait for anyone!!
- Gift: Psychometry. She can gain the knowledge of anyone and anything she touches for a short period of time. Her power, on objects, tends to be more linear as it tells her how to use it, what information it houses inside if it’s a book, what it’s made of, so on. On people it tends to be more difficult as it tells her basic information such as blood type, birthdays, and names, but also things like memories, history/upbringing, skills, and emotional state in the present.

Fun facts!!
- She was adopted around the age of 10 (I mentioned this last post but hush hush)
- When her gift first developed, she was playing with her cousin Noelle. Reaching for a toy, she saw the mild boredom from playing with her, but also the massacre of her friends in the summer camp.
- Due to growing up in a town with many who are apart of the Church of Ichor around her, despite not being apart of the church herself, believed that the blood monsters were angels. After seeing this, she, instead of being fearful, was curious.
- It was literally in the last one but she isn’t apart of the church. Much like her dads.
- When she forgets people’s names she taps them.
- People used to bribe her to get cheat sheet answers only for her to take their money and feed them misinformation.
- She loves the butterfly enclosure that her tita Mika has.
- Has an ex boyfriend (cough cough) who her papa has telepathically scolded whenever he tries to talk to Penny and her tatay gives him almost violent stares.
- Goes back home every weekend to her dads and eats brunch with them.
- Survives on bagels and cream cheese if no one checks in on her.
- Works in absolute silence.
- Has a dedicated spot in Andres’ library just for her.
- People mistake her to be biologically related to her dads and she goes along with it.
- Her way of dressing is inspired by her dads.
- Her room is tidied up and maintained over the week when she isn’t home.
- Picked up journaling and writing from Andres.
- References a lot of Kalei’s old study notes and picked up her habit of studying like that from him.
- Bought Andres an ornate pocket watch due to how often he loses track of time (and because he likes pretty things).
- Treats Irene as her aunt because of how close Irene and Andres are.
- Despite living off the most minimal things, she can cook and knows how to. Just doesnt do it often.
- When she was younger her hair got burnt off by a blood monster but ended up liking the short style and sticking with it.
- Has felt a blood monster (same monster mentioned previously) but got little to no history of it. In terms of information, there were some new things but it was all a jumble in her mind that she couldn’t decipher.
