“You know, if you keep eating all the candy there won’t be any left for all the little kids.” Jongdae laughed, wrapping his arms around your shoulders. He placed a kiss on the top of your head, taking the big bowl of candy out of your grasp.

“Good thing I didn’t ask for your opinion,” you laughed, popping another chocolate bar in your mouth. “Do the little kids really need all that candy though?” you pouted when Jongdae joined you back on the couch, all the delicious chocolate now out of your grasp.

“No, but do you really need all that candy Y/N?” Jongdae chuckled when you playfully slapped his shoulder.

“You’re Satan.”

“Quite literally,” Jongdae stuck his tongue out at you, adjusting the devil ears on his head. “But where is my angel? You’re not acting very holy.” He winked, eyeing your white costume.

“I’d be a whole lot nicer if you gave me back the candy.” You batted your eyelashes. Jongdae shook his head, his smile never leaving his lips when he grabbed your halo off the coffee table, placing it on your head with asoft pat.

“Beautiful, as always.” Jongdae told you before a loud knock sounded at your door. He laughed when he saw your frown, taking your hand andthe candy bowl, leading you towards the door.

“Don’t pout babe, if you really want more candy later, I’ll be sure to get you some more.”

If you thought of disney’s Herculese then you are freaking spot-on with where I got this idea from. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ __________________ If there was a price for rotten judgement, Ivan was certain he’d already won that. King of Spades or not, the man certainly wasn’t worth the aggravation. His obnoxious grin, his flamboyant mannerisms, even the way he’d sashay into someone else’s palace like he owned the place. How the blue-battered king would demand a guest seat right next to the king’s chair during dinner, how he’d insist on three trays of every dish, how he’d stuff his face full every single night without a care in the world. Damn the way he insists on monthly visits, to keep up “good relations between kingdoms”. Ivan didn’t have the time for that! Damn how he’d show up all pristine and perfect, flashing his million watt grin. Damn his arrogant blond hair, shining as though it was worth the sun. Damn the stars behind saphhire eyes, damn the glasses framing them so perfectly. Damn his overwhelming laughter, echoing through the hall of Clubs and ringing in Ivan’s ears. Damn it all. Damn that king. Ivan didn’t need help with redecorating his room, especially not from him. He didn’t ask for that incompetent man’s intervention. He didn’t need company walking through the halls, and he sure as hell didn’t need it in his private garden. He didn’t need a goddamn flower, especially not one picked from his own rose bushes. He didn’t need “A little comfort”. He didn’t need the warmth he felt. He didn’t need that. He needed none of that. But he wanted it. Ivan knew he wanted it. But he didn’t want to say it, because then he might need it. And so he won’t say it. No matter all the obnoxious, intoxicating, affectionate, overwhelming attention King Alfred gave him, Ivan won’t say he’s in love. ______

“Hey babe.”

That low drawl made you scowl towards the source of the voice.You turned in your seat, ready to tell whoever it was to just fuck off, when you were met with the sight of a rather boyish face. A face that certainly did not match to the gravely voice. He sat next to you and ordered his drink, for a minute you thought he was actually going to give you good graces and leave youalone, that was until his hand came to rest on your knee. You pushed him away.

“I’m not here to make friends,” you all but practically growled at the man sitting next to you. “Can’t you see I’m just here to drink and forget about life for a couple hours? I’m not interested.”

“C’mon, let me help you forget. A pretty thing like you allalone on a night like this? You’re practically asking for trouble.” He purred, his fingers daring to brush the fabric of your jeans over your thigh.

“If you know what’s good for you, you’ll stop.” You said through gritted teeth.

“Yeah? Whatcha gonna do? Beat me up?” he taunted, his lips blowing hot air into the shell of your ear. Your body trembled, a sigh leaving your lips.

“I’m too sober for this.” You lifted yourself up out of the chair, intending just to walk away and diffuse the situation, but the man grabbed your wrist.

“Running away? Now don’t be like that, I know deep down inside that broken little heart of yours, you find me insanely attractive.” He chuckled and smiled down at you.

You yanked your wrist out of his grasp, only to grab onto his arm, twisting him down onto the table chest first. You could hear is gasp of pain rather than see it as your eyes filled with tears. You grabbed his other arm and he now had no defenses left. He yelped when you dug your fingersinto the fleshy part of his palms, stomping his feet in pain.

“P-Please, Y/N let up. I thought you liked me playing around with you like that?” his voice immediately expressed that of concern when he heard you crying behind him. You only responded by digging your fingers in harder.

“You’re seriously like a man-child Jeno; can’t you take a hint for just one  fucking night?!” you cried over his yells of pain.

You let him go and ran out of the bar, tears streaming down your cheeks. You didn’t look back to see Jeno’s eyes trailing after you, confusion and hurt evident on his face. Nor did you see him come after you, if you did you probably would’ve run faster.

84. “Show me what’s behind your back”

“You know, you keep playing all these mind games with me, and I honestly don’t know what to say at this point.” Jongdae chuckled, scoffing his boot against the hard concrete floor.

“Mr. Kim, this is a police interrogation.” you sighed, pursing your lips. “If you refuse to cooperate with me I will put you back in that jail cell to rot.”

“Okay, okay, Jesus.” he sighed, watching you scribble in the notebook in front of you. “But you don’t think I don’t know how you really feel about me, I still have that thing you sent me.” Jongdae chuckled, his hands going behind him. You looked up from your report in suspicion, your eyes flickering between his face and his hands.

“Jongdae, show me what’s behind your back.” your hand rested over the handle of your pistol, in case he decided to pull a weapon on you. Jongdae shrugged, showing his hands up to you, one of them holding a crumpled peace of paper.

“This was a nice letter you sent me, y’know? Very professional, checking up on me and making sure I keep out of trouble, entirely cordial. But newsflash, normally police officers don’t send their prisoners personal letters. You wouldn’t do that to someone unless you really cared about them. Did you like my reply, you probably have it hidden somewhere as a sacred memento.” Jongdae smirked, dropping the letter onto the table you sat at. You stared at the paper blankly, your eyes holding no emotion when you looked up at him.

“Just admit you like me Officer, the sooner I get out of here, the sooner I could take you out on a date. But you have control of how long I stay in this prison.” Jongdae sighed, his smirk faltering. “I’m tired of playing this back and forth flirting bullshit. I just want to spend the night holding you in my arms as a free man.”

You sighed, breaking your steely gaze with the man you were infatuated with.

“You robbed a bank and assaulted a police officer. There’s not much I can do to lessen your sentence,” you said. Jongdae groaned in annoyance. “However, I know someone who might be able to that. Give me a few days and I’ll see what I can do.”

2. “Hey, hey, calm down. They can’t hurt you anymore.”

31. “I haven’t slept in ages.”

Namjoon woke up to the sound of your screaming. He paused for just a moment, taking in your thrashing body and scrunched eyes in his sleepy haze and realized you were just dreaming. It was just another bad dream. Namjoon shook you awake, pulling you up into his lap and embrace. His lips spilt calming words and hushing breaths, urging you to calm down and to wake you up gently. A loud gasp from you alerted Namjoon that you were finally awake. He looked down at you with a steady gaze; he really was your rock when you needed him to be.

“I’m sorry,” you gasped softly, nuzzling your face into the smooth expanse of Namjoon’s bare chest.

“Don’t apologize. Was it the same dream as before?” he asked, his fingers carding their way through your hair. You shuddered against the warm of your lover’s skin as you remembered your dream. The cold of night, the sounds of crunching leaves and gunfire, the moaning and groaning of-

“Hey, hey, calm down. They can’t hurt you anymore.” Namjoon reminded you softly, his hand coming up to your cheek to make you look at him. 

“Remember, breathe.” his voice and gentle coaxing caused your heart rate to drop back to a normal pace, and you flushed when his lips placed a tentative kiss on your cheek.

“Thank you, Namjoon. For saving me, for everything.” you sighed, leaning in to place staccato kisses along the length of his neck. Namjoon just chuckled and embraced your affection, humming softly when your lips met the dip of his collar bone.

“You were being assaulted in an alley, I couldn’t just ignore your cries for help.” he admitted, pulling away so he could meet your eyes. “I would do it again; I would still take the bullet and do it a thousand times if it meant you would be alive and with me right now.”

“You really are amazing, Namjoon. An amazing partner and an amazing therapist” you kissed him softly, and even though you wanted to keep his lips on yours, you forced yourself to pull away. “But no matter what we do, it still feels like I haven’t slept in ages. The dreams always come back.”

Namjoon sighed, scrunching his eyebrows in thought. After a moment, he laid back down onto the bed, urging you to lay on top of him.

“You never wake up when I’m holding you, if I have to hold you in my arms all night so you can sleep, then I will.”
