If anyone was curious the Sulfur Cinquefoil I rescued from death-by-mow-culture is finally blooming and beautiful 🤩
A solitary bee (unsure if it's a masonry or a wood bee) enjoys wisteria blossoms on March 19, 2024.
My bonsai of Japanese maple and Lady fern, with a background of a twin European larch.
A decade ago a friend gave me the maple seedling from underneath parent maples, while the fern grew voluntarily from a spore in the same pot some time later.
Arranging bonsai is almost as fun as creating and tending to them. It's not like herding cats though. They are more like living green art-pet rescue sculpture creatures.
Sansevieria rescue mission
I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t stumble on some rescue cases. In this case there were 4; two little palms, and two croton ‘petra’. I’m not too sure what the palms are, despite them being common. The plants were heavily discounted due to a heavy infestation of spider mites. I took them home and repotted the two crotons together, and the two palms together. They got a thorough shower, and now I am waiting to see if I can fully obliterate the mites!
I bought more rescue plants today... I just couldn’t stop myself. I went in for bird food for the birb families with baby birbs after they demolished the last lot I put out, and these plont babies were just sitting in the clearance section, practically begging me to take them home!.
Photos to follow if anyone’s even vaguely interested. One’s a cool kind of bromeliad I think, and the others are two effing bonsai trees in pots that were £3.50 each, including the pots (they look like they might want a bigger pot soon though... not sure. Have to do some research into bonsai. I do have a bonsai book I picked up in a charity shop not long ago though, so hopefully that’ll help.
If you’re not interested, all my plant stuff get’s tagged ‘ghosti’s plants’, so you can do whatever magic you need to and not see stuff with that tag, I assume???
