I have a feeling
the MANY reshoots mentioned by JP were real.
These are TV producers and film makers, the bottom one is followed by Rian Johnson. and the tweet they are replying to has been deleted.
Do you sense what I sense, but it’s just a feeling ^^
Everything about the shot book-accurate cut of Artemis Fowl (2020)
Pre-2019 reshoots the shot Artemis Fowl movie was much more book-accurate.
Bear in mind there’s a hell of a lot more of this stuff according to people who diligently tracked production, and they're releasing something soon. But this stuff is easy to find.
The 8 deleted scenes (roughly 12-15 minutes) on Disney+, including the extended 'Searching For The Book'
The Book and the Gnommish language are all over both the posters and the original logo debuted in the teaser trailer, replaced in the final cut when the Book was removed.
The tie-in book Artemis Fowl: A Fowl Adventure outlines a more book-accurate plot:
Artemis Jr has more agency, researching the People on his own and receiving postcards from his absent father that contain the secret message 'Time 2 Believe in them' instead of leading to the underground base
Opal wants gold, Holly is caught performing the Ritual with her acorn, the bio-bomb is present, and the Aculos is only discovered later by Mulch, who steals it
Considering the Aculos was designed to be Acorn-shaped like the gold (see below) it's theorised that originally Mulch just stole an ingot and there was no Aculos)
The reveal that Holly's Dad worked with Artemis Sr is what motivates them to be 'allies'
The book contains screenshots including:
Arty decoding the Book,
Artemis and Butler (referred to by that name) measuring things around a Ritual site,
Holly with her acorn in the Manor,
Holly and Mulch with the gold outside Fowl Manor.
The LEP entering Fowl Manor post-bio bomb (mentioned by name)
The Fairy Gold. Notice the drinks in their hands. The drugging escape plan was shot.
Artemis Sr was not rescued by the end of the film. Artemis is left in a more morally ambiguous place. Mulch escapes with the Aculos and doesn't join Artemis
link to all trailer shots not in the film, including literally 95% of the teaser, and footage of Arty decoding the Book
Artemis' mother Angeline was cast. There's a shot of her in tie-in book How to be a LEPrecon: They killed her in reshoots
This scene is clearly cutting around Holly searching for an acorn
the ADR bedroom scene. 'DAD' is added in post: This is clearly meant to be Artemis checking that his mother had escaped the Time Field. Ferdia Shaw visibly ages between cuts.
Opal Kobi was played by Hong Chau and would’ve been revealed as the cut Ho-Chi-Min sprite
In 2018, production time, Eoin confirmed the film was based solely on the first book
Laurence Kinlan playing Becahwood Short, entirely cut from the film:
Yeah I'm going to need the 2019 version of this photo ♥️ @taylorswift
