‘Moon undah water’ from Puma Blue. It’s been played live for a while but now it’s out in studio recorded form.
Found this guy a couple of days ago and have listened to basically nothing else.
The whole album this track is off (The Party) is just sublime. Not a single bad track in my opinion. Musically genius and lyrically deep.
Highly recommend listening to it.
(Also the track “To you” is explicitly gay and Andy has said when asked about it “This track is gay” which is nice)
i’ve been thinking about Jordan Rakei and his 2nd album Wallflower a lot recently... a really good artist and album. A slow burner for me... i liked it when i first heard it, but now there’s something about the repeated listens that have made me really understand it... Just a really good ass album.

Dad's setup. It's a Pioneer PL-100 with an SX-690 amp and Q-2010i speakers. He's gone for an early 80s styled setup as opposed to my early 70s setup. Nicer than mine in terms of features but a bit less attractive. He's much newer to the world of Hifi than I am so he initially bought a dud amp, and of course his record collection is still fairly small. But it's nice to have someone else in the family that you can talk to about all this stuff. (Plus he buys me records sometimes!)
pssst if you like music and audio stuff go follow my Retro Audio blog @retraes
So I'm actually properly starting up this blog again, and I'm starting with a display of my collection.
A few notable items you might be able to pick out:
- Lower shelf, far left. Limited edition copy of Mirrorwriting by Jamie Woon which came in a box rather than a sleeve.
- Top shelf, left side, 4-7 records in roughly. Several Pink Floyd albums - the Wall, Dark Side, Animals, and Atom Heart
- Lower shelf, left side, 3rd record in. Dad’s copy of Led Zeppelin IV
- Top shelf, right side, 10 records in, blue. It’s a copy of Village People. I have no idea when I got it. Where did it come from? I’ve never even played it. It’s a mystery. But it lives there now.
I’ll tell you more about some more of these in later posts. Stay tuned!
