Klance through the years
Their relationship didn’t start with Legendary Defender.
Klance: CANON KING since 1984.
Voltron: Defender of the Universe (1984-85)
As the heroic lead, Keith is honorable and courageous. He often rescues Lance, his hotheaded second-in-command, from predicaments, and has saved his life on many occasions. Meanwhile, Lance has Keith’s back with his daredevil flying and wicked aim. Lance is always ready with a witty remark. He winks at Keith all the damn time.
Voltron: The Third Dimension (1998-2000)
Lance is a hellraiser who often pressures the more levelheaded Commander Keith to take risks. In turn, Keith is usually the one to get Lance out of trouble. Despite his confident act, Lance is still dealing with the childhood trauma of seeing his home planet destroyed. Keith is his stability.
Voltron Force (2011-2012)
I’ve only watched the first couple of episodes, but damn, Keith rocks a black catsuit. He's a wanted fugitive and Lance denounces him in public ... but in private it’s a different story. ;)
Voltron: Legendary Defender (2016-2018)
In this version, Keith is the hothead while Lance is his stability. The two didn’t start out on the best of terms, but they bonded after Keith, uh... cradled Lance in his arms. Keith has helped Lance overcome his insecurity and self-doubt, while Lance has helped Keith to reign in his temper and become a better leader. It’s a classic red/blue rivals-to-lovers story with a space twist.
