Another Verse Christians Hate
28 “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”
Matthew 16:28
There will never be scientific evidence to prove that a few people from the first century are still alive. Everyone who stood there tasted death already. That's a guarantee. Some may try to fool people and say that he spoke of his resurrection. No, he was obviously speaking about the supposed second coming. The Bible says Christ resurrected, but it spoke of no kingdom. Revelation speaks of the visions regarding the second advent and mentions the new heaven, new Earth, and new Jerusalem. That is the kingdom here referred to. Or is it figurative? No. It is simply untrue.
The Verse that Christians Hate
34 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
Matthew 24:34
1st Century? That generation is dead and gone. All of the events mentioned in Matthew 24 are extremely general. They have happened again and again ever since. Why didn't the end times happen? Is this also figurative? No. It is simply untrue.
The values of Islam trump anyone else's - which is what any follower of Islam does assume, just as any follower of any religion believes that theirs is the sole way, truth and light. If people wish to love a 7th century preacher more than their own families, that's up to them, but nobody else is obliged to take it seriously.
Andrew Mueller
I don’t like the idea of missionaries. In fact, the whole business fills me with fear and alarm. I don’t believe in God, or at least not in the one we’ve invented for ourselves in England to fulfill our peculiarly English needs, and certainly not in the ones they’ve invented in America who supply their servants with toupees, television stations and, most importantly, toll-free telephone numbers. I wish that people who did believe in such things would keep them to themselves and not export them to the developing world.
