I can understand why someone might be uncomfortable with research into the genetics of Jews....but in this case, it's not what you think. The research found that Israelis and Palestinians are basically genetically identical. For some reason, probably because that finding goes against religious dogma, the journal which originally published this finding are not only removing it from further print, but are asking scientists who got advance copies to rip those pages out of this edition. Wow.

The evidence comes down to the fact that whoever wrote them doesn't distinguish between a capital lambda and capital alpha. ... annoying, to be sure, but wouldn't a modern learner of Greek be very careful to note the difference? Maybe they're not fake. Maybe they were just written by an idiot. ... actually, that last part is true regardless.

Reading up on Christianity for my talk tomorrow night. Came across this passage in the wikipedia for St. Augustine: "Like other Church Fathers, St Augustine "vigorously condemned the practice of induced abortion" as a crime, in any stage of pregnancy.[47] In his works, Augustine did consider that the gravity of participation in an abortion depended on whether the fetus had yet received a soul. According to his beliefs, this occurred at 40 days for males, and 90 for females.[47]"
