Loving Fool
When what you thought you wanted becomes a fallacy of the mind/you want it so badly that you accept being emotionally neglected and undermined/you say to yourself not this time! I know what I want, you say! and find yourself in harms way/taking the abuse that tears you down/searching for the truth that seems to never be found you say/ but the truth is in your face/ staring at you like your reflection in the mirror/the deception draws nearer/hoping to find the version of love that you thought was a healer/your heart says...stick with it, it will be rewarding/ moments turn into days, days turn into months, months turn into years/ yet you find yourself alone with bottles of wine silently shedding tears/ you say to yourself...am I the fool? wanting someone that is contemplating selfish moves/love is action! truth within your veins your intuition tells you this isn’t right! but you continue on the same/ love is what is desired what a precious thing/yet, we have much to learn of what loving ourselves first really means/ it gives one power to know what is healthy and what is toxic/ we think that pain is love such a misconstrued logic/ love is wonderful! it is patient and it is kind/ it isn’t misunderstanding neither is it blind/ we see the signs but ignore them we make excuses for them & suck our souls dry to please and adore them/ what is this serum that drugs us? under it’s influence we’ve come into something new the truth! is it you or are they lost? the questions of loving a fool!
