Master Nin has always been very expressive. Laughter, sorrow, pain, relief... I’ve seen a lot of emotions on his features. But in all the years I’ve known him, I’ve only seen anger cross his face a handful of times.
A flash of anger. It was always gone as soon as it came, the kind of sight you could easily miss if you blinked.
Usually it was when someone was insulting towards the people he cared about, or when he witnessed some kind of injustice.
And even then, that was all it was: a flash.
I’ve only seen true anger take hold on him a single time.
I remember the look on his face, the strange distortion in his voice... They say mages always end up as demons puppets, but on this day, it felt like he was neither mage nor demon, only fire.
If there is anyone out there willing to listen, may they have mercy on those who find themselves facing him in that state.
