khajiit angy phase of life
yoo i've seen you post a bunch about Rakkan & Nad; what's rezad's deal? I feel like i missed out on him
Rezad’s the child of a single khajiit father who used to be a sailor and settled in Cyrodiil, he grew up helping his dad on the docks in Leyawiin and ended up becoming a sailor himself, working on commercial ships across the Topal. He ended up captured by pirates working for the Worm Cult and killed, coming back to life as a vestige, and then ESO unfolds!
He’s a poet at heart (and literally too) motivated by great ideals. Before being killed, he didn’t dream very far apart from his one dream of becoming a luthier, but being the vestige and being forcefully dragged into negociating various political plots opened his vision on the world. During ESO’s storyline, he starts off as an agent for the Dominion, then gathers enough money and status to go back to Cyrodiil and reunite with his father. After that, he founds a small commercial trader’s guild and lives comfortably a few years before letting everything go, changing said guild into a rebel group similar to the Twin Lamps and using his contacts across Tamriel to get into action, and dissapears from the public view
He’s quiet with a head up in the clouds but with extremely strong willpower, simple tastes in life from growing up around sailors, very faithful (prays to a personal pantheon all over the place, mostly to Khenarthi and Vivec, respecfully embodiments of forces of nature to protect seafarers, and a warrior-poet associated the poorer and trans people). He ends up marrying Pacrooti, though I am unsure of what the two become when Rezad takes up the rogue life.
ocs: 4, 24, 44!
A character you rarely talk about?
Well, to be fair, most of them nowadays...in terms of main characters, and not side characters for other's stories (I also have lots of those) I feel I haven't talked about my ESO main in years. His name is Rezad and he's a good lad!
If you could meet one OC of yours, who would it be and why?
Hard to say. I don't think I'd vibe with any of them, really, so friendship isn't an option. They also tend to not have skills I'd need in life. I wanna say none. I've read a book where that happens and it sucks for the character, too! The film I was asking about on here also talks about that...
Something you like about your OCs in general
Due to my designing process I had for years, they all look unique. Each time I wanted to create an OC, I'd look back on what features I don't draw and did something using them. The more I look around the more I see how uncommon that is, so I'm proud of it!
additional cursed content of the night here are some of my khajiit characters but hairless
left to right Sumala, Rakkan, Rezad and Ma’Jahrann
Rezad 5, 17, 22 please?
How religious is your oc? Do they come into conflict with others over their beliefs? If their patron deity told them to do something extremely undesirable or against their moral compass, would they do it? Would your oc sell someone’s soul for a corn chip?
Rezad is pious and has an ecclectic personal pantheon - he prays to the divines and to khajiit gods from his uprising as a cyrodiilic khajiit, to some redguard gods from sailing with redguards, and finally to Vivec, who he learned about while traveling. I’d he’ll most commonly think about Zenithar, Khenarthi, Vivec and Stendarr! He talks to his gods a lot and doesn’t expect answers in return - if a god were to answer and ask him to do something cruel, he would probably take it as a big hit and refuse. He’s very tender and hates hurting others, and being involved and literally killed in the war made his feelings on the matter harden. He wouldn’t do something he considers unjust on purpose even if it’s a divine order
What does your oc like to eat? How much food do they eat? Can your oc cook, and can they do it well?
He’s quite a good cook, and has a thing for brewing light wine too. He likes eating seafood and fresh bread, but isn’t picky in general, and likes discovering what people eat across tamriel. He tends to be pretty frugal since he’s uh, not very alive
How does your oc acquire their clothes, and from where/whom?
Before going out adventuring, he had very few clothing - when he started representing the Dominion and getting some gold, he started hiring local tailors to make him clothing sets the people of wherever he had to go wear, to fit in and as a sign of respect. He also got a few fancy cyrodiilic costumes for really big occasions :3c
yes we fish why do you ask
1, 11, 21, 31, 41 + A, J for rezad, basile, rakkan and nad (hope its not too much im sorryy 🙈)
What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do?
Rezad : hours....he’ll just sit there somewhere looking at the clouds go by and making verses in his head
Basile : an hour at most - he’d need to have something to listen to or to fidget with. He’s not exactly a man of action, but he does hate being bored. Would probably tap his fingers around to break the silence and if nothing happens start a conversation with the nearest person
Rakkan : it depends on the context. If it’s something he does of his own free wil, like meditating or taking a nap, he’d last! But he wouldn’t be able to sit still if someone asked him to. He also tends to hate closed spaces, being indoors would make it even more difficult for him to chill
Nad : she’s got a will of steel, she’d last indefinitely
How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)?
Rezad : ask simple questions, then pray/meditate on it. He takes his time to understand things at his own pace.
Basile : having close to no patience he’d demand an explanation from the source of said confusion, if it’s extremely important and not stemming from any being able to answer a question he’d throw a quick fit before going to do whatever distracting thing to forget about it
Rakkan : Rakkan asks no questions unless he’s personally threathened by whatever is going on which very seldom happens. If a problem persists living around dunmer proved to him that an axe can solve a lot of things
Nad : pretends she understands what’s going on with a smile and crossing her fingers to staying undiscovered
Why do they get up in the morning?
Rezad : he finds beauty in small things and likes being commited to a cause - should it be his duty as a vestige, or as an activist for whatever, he likes being part of a group to help, having a cause to wake up to
Basile : 1) sun in his face 2) bored 3) horny
Rakkan : he does a lot of things mechanically without thinking much about it and waking up is one of those things, it’s really insignificant to him. Sixth House nightmares and dark brotherhood assasins spice it up a tad but not enough for him to actively feel something about it
Nad : mechanical thing, just like Rakkan. She also takes whatever duties she’s currently doing very religiously so would wake up to finish an errand quest fast, or attend a meeting, etc
Who are they the most glad to have met?
Rezad : not quite exactly a meeting, but he found his faith in Vivec like a beacon of hope in dark times, and really loves and relate to hir. Trans warrior poets unite
Basile : I literally can’t find a single person I guess that says a lot about him
Rakkan : he hates to admit it, but dude really grew a soft spot for old Caius Cosades, to the point of feeling very depressed when he left - whether he admits it or not, Caius was his guide during the biggest turning point of his life, and one of the rare people he ever got along with
Nad : her adoptive parents! she loves them
How do they feel about children?
Rezad : he loves their creativity and is pretty good at taking care of kids despite being a single child, but he isn’t specially fond of them either, pretty neutral tbh
Basile : generally dislikes kids, especially caring about them, but enjoys playing with kids on rare occassions. He admires their brutal honesty. Savage little bastards
Rakkan : oh boy does he hate them
Nad : Nad would DIE for kids caring for children is one of her favorite things in the world
A) Why are you excited about this character?
I’m excited by my characters because I think I can imagine them with complex and very different personalities! I do truely love my characters, and my elder scrolls characters also shine because I’m able to make them live in a setting I fit them for. Now for individual characters :
Rezad : superficial I know but I just love how he looks. Each time I play ESO I’m just like Oh Him
Basile : I’m amazed by my abilities to write him despite being a character I’d immediatly want to strangle if I were to meet him irl
Rakkan : I invented his story along the way and it fits so goddamn well...one day I’ll have to write it all down in a long Tale Of Rakkan. I’m so hyped to discover what will happen along his little way
Nad : im gay
J) Did you have to manipulate or exclude canon factors to allow them to create their character?
Not really....? They’re all canon protagonists and I play by the rules. I don’t really go much beyond adding minor stuff to their story - most I do is making them enter relationships, but again it’s always plausible ones. I think the further I went was for Nad, since she isn’t originally an elder scrolls character I adapted her story to fit in Tamriel and it started up with me forgetting there were 300 years between the Red Year and Skyrim but I corrected it by inventing my own little pocket of escaped dunmer culture she’d have crawled out of
What moon phase is Rezad? Does he like wearing certain colors / patterns over others? Tell me more about Sumala!! He seems like a happy boy. Have you drawn out your headcanons for the different forms of Khajiit?
Rezad would love greek style geometrical patterns, but he’d also like softer lines like art nouveau! He is a cathay and does not have a favorite color yet - I currently have him wear an outfit that fits his colors, so in tones of brownish gold. I figure he’d also love blues a lot, especially light ones, like sky colors, which I chose for his guild emblem (x)
As for Sumala?
I wanted a healer, so I made a healer, and wanted to make him look as lovely as possible, so I made a huge and round khajiit with a big smile and even bigger bright green eyes. I decided he’d be very simple and he’d love being such a strong and reliable party member, and since I like drawing very strong and reliable sweet khajiit, I decided his entire family would be like that. Like J’birra.
Here he is with @azuwah‘s pirate queen, rocking our tabard and a smile. :3
For the different type of khajiit, I only have my specific headcanons for the Dagi and Tojay. I picture both of them as very small, the size of a human child for the -raht. Tojay would be more feline, with long tails for navigating in trees, very agile. Dagi would be as agile, but more versed in magic, and would look like a very small ohmes-raht (..furry bosmer) with weird tree hopper legs.
Here are Jahrann (tojay-raht) and Dar-ji (dagi) from the caravan of Jahrann’s aunt having a chat
